You're thinking just like me! That's the question, isn't it? Is Lizzie dead...would she be dead if Jackson died before she died? Would she have died anyway? And all the other characters who die in the battles—are they dead? Did they die? Are these universes parallel, or is this the same universe with a time loop? I want readers to ask these questions and try to figure out the implications. It all has to do with string theory and M-brane and the continuum of time. One of the things I was hoping to accomplish with the series was to get readers thinking about exactly these questions.

Thanks for getting in touch! I have a whole bunch of stuff on the go right now. My agent is currently shopping a young adult project, a dark spooky suspense. I'm working on a contemporary gothic romance for my adult readers.
And I'm reworking the five books in the urban fantasy/paranormal romance Sins series for re-release, with the first one, Sins of the Heart, out March 4! This series is dark, gritty, sexy, and action-packed.
After that...who knows? But I have a ton of ideas :-)

Thanks so much for getting in touch! Actually, the rights for the series have reverted to me which is why Harlequin has removed the books from sale. I'm currently having new covers created for all the books, and I'm editing to add new content and expand the stories a little. I'm super excited to hear that you loved the series. I'm actually currently creating a list of beta readers to send the revised editions to for a pre-read before I re-release. Read. Read. Read. Read as many genres as you can and try to determine what elements of the story work for you.
Write. Write. Write. The more you write, the better. If a novel feels too large and daunting, start with a short story.
Search out a writing course. There are often writing courses offered as part of continuing education programs. For example, University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies offers some great writing courses (I teach there).
Search out local writing groups. For example, Toronto Romance Writers is a fantastic group that offers monthly workshops, critique sessions, a newsletter and support to writers. Depending on what you write, you can also check out SCBWI or Sisters in Crime or SFWA, etc.

It would be very cool to see RUSH, PUSH and CRASH made into a movie. But authors don't really have a say in that. It depends on the interest of a director/producer/actor in the project. But I love your casting for the parts.

Thanks for loving the Otherkin—I love them too. I had planned on more books in the series and would have loved to have the chance to write them, but my publisher wasn't interested in continuing. Maybe one day I'll have the chance to revisit Roxy and Dae and all the other characters I love so much, but for now, the story is complete with Sins of the Heart, Sins of the Soul, Sins of the Flesh, Body of Sin and the novella Sin's Daughter.

Miki has Japanese heritage and I wanted to honor that heritage. I chose her name because when I was investigating possibilities, I read name backgrounds and meanings and one thing I read was that a girl named Miki would be a keeper of secrets (and in the book Miki must keep many secrets), that she would possess a profound sense of friendship (and Miki does—she stays true to her friendship with Carly even when Carly isn't being very kind to her). Also, her name means "beautiful" "chronicle" and I felt that she is beautiful on the inside and also that she is a chronicle of the events of the game and the Drau invasion because the entire story is told from her point of view, chronicling events as they occur.
When I did some research deeper than just name meaning...looking into sites that describe a personality based on a name, then Jackson came up as someone who is very blunt when he speaks, who is very independent, someone who appears cool and aloof even though he really isn't, and all these personality traits fits my character.
When I start a story, I never know the characters' names. Not in the beginning. But slowly, as the story unfolds, the characters reveal their names to me as I get to know them.

I've finished CRASH and turned it in and I can't wait for it to get to readers! It will be out in June 2015.

All my books have been released by traditional publishers; however, I'm a hybrid author. In cases where the rights have been returned to me, I've released those titles digitally. I'm also experimenting with one of my titles that sold rights in North America—I'm publishing digital English language copies myself to see where things go.
