Rita Gerlach My love for it. No sudden flash of light overcomes me. It's a part of me, something I've been doing for decades. It's a part of me, and if I'm not writing, I don't feel complete.
Rita Gerlach I'm writing the sequel to Mercy's Refuge. We are looking at a publication date to be in late 2023. This novel requires a lot of research and time. No way do I want to let my reades down. I want the sequel to be a satisfying romance adventure from the year the Mayflower landed in 1620 to the dark but also enlightening time of 1693.
Rita Gerlach Write because you love to write.
Rita Gerlach It's not fame and fortune, I can tell you that much. That only comes to a few. I'm not one of them, and I'm content with that. For me there is no single best thing about writing. There are many things. When I write 'The End' there is a sense of accomplishment, without a prideful attitude. Another is when a character pops up that is new to the story. Another is that spark in my mind how to move the story forward when there is a pause in inspiration. Most of all the best is when someone tells me, the story I wrote touched them deeply and changed their life.
