Hi! I'm so sorry for such a late response. Frankly, I had no idea GoodReads had a Q&A feature, but anyway, to answer your question, it was a mix of a few old stories I had in mind when I was younger, my favorite TV shows, movies, books, and true crime cases. Hannibal, Killing Eve, Scream 1996, and the case of Loeb and Leopold (a real-life murder case) are some of the pieces of media that influenced the story the most.
