I'm glad you liked Cows - your mention of "many levels" leads me to suspect you got more from the book than just the sex and violence. Very heartening for the author! Sorry about signing. You just missed me. I was in New York early in February - didn't do any signings or readings or anything, though. I would have been happy to sign a copy for you though.

Hi Matthew, I just finished reading "Cows", whoa. Curious to know what you might suggest as another book to read, whether its one of your own or by an author you enjoy reading?
Matthew Stokoe Heather, I'm very sorry this is so late. I didn't see your question until now. I'm afraid I don't know of any other books like Cows. The other one of mine that is closest to it in graphic-ness is High Life. Any book I could recommend wouldn't be like Cows. But I'll mention one anyhow. Last Exit to Brookly by Hubert Selby Jr was a book that really I founded me. Spectacular writing. Thanks for your message. Cheers, Matthew.

Hi Matthew. Is there an audio version of Cows out there somewhere? If not, I would very seriously like to narrate an audio version. Think of all the car accidents it would cause with the homebound commute.
Matthew Stokoe Hi Brad, actually, awhile back, I did have someone interested in doing this - a guy who owned a sound studio business or something in New Mexico, I think it was. He'd contact me every six months or so, talk it up big, but nothing ever came of it. Thanks for the offer, dude, but as you note - I just wouldn't want to be responsible for a series of freeway pile-ups.

Hi Matthew. Is there any chance Colony of Whores will be reprinted in the near future? It was available on Amazon for 2 secs then POOF! I've been waiting patiently, but I'm starting to get antsy. Also, I believe I read some time ago that "High Life" was being turned into a film (is that even possible without the censors destroying the story?). If there's any truth to a film, when can we expect it's release?

I'm trying to start a rumour that Pixar are going to be turning your book "cows" into a movie....is there any truth in this?
Matthew Stokoe Dear Jason, at this point in negotiations I can neither deny or confirm the truth of this rumour. Unfortunately, Hollywood leaks like a sieve and it's almost impossible to keep anything secret these days.
