Sherry Gloag Great question :-) but I'm sorry but I'm going to have to admit to defeat here.
Sherry Gloag I am sorry for not replying sooner, but as a writer of romance I enjoy reading a wide variety of romance stories and usually learn a lot from them too :-) I often choose books set in countries I know little about, because then I discover the secrets that travel adds and agencies leave out. There are so many places I would like to visit simply because the author's skill brought those places to life for me. Thank you for your question.
Sherry Gloag Thank you for your question and interest :-) Alaska because the author brought her setting alive for me. Taught me stuff I never knew about Alaska. Also would love to have a holiday in Italy. So many different authors have shown me different parts of that country, most of which I find intriguing.
Sherry Gloag I have four major projects in the pipeline at the moment, and another one that may just go to the top of the list as there is a deadline for that one. Plus four more that I pick up and put down when the urge takes me.
Sherry Gloag This is not such an easy question to answer as -for me - there are several things I like about being a writer.
I enjoy the freedom to write what I want to write when I want to write it. Some days I may spend hours writing, and on others not so much. I love the way characters develop a 'mind of their own' and now matter how I (the author) tries to control the story, the characters usually win out in the end. :-)
Sherry Gloag It's always 'been there'. Not always very insistently, but for as long as I can remember.
Sherry Gloag I am currently working on several different stories. Two a sequel to existing stories in The Gasquet Princes series, but the one that is taking the most time to write and research is based on a idea that came to me after listening to a news story.
Sherry Gloag Persevere. While there may be 'bad' days - even 'bad' weeks - keep going, write something else, go and read (research!) or take a complete break, whatever works for you. But in the long run, persevere, and keep on writing. A blank page won't write itself!
Sherry Gloag I generally open a blank page and start 'freewriting' on any subject that comes to mind. This gives my mind a break from my current story and also seems to trigger new, fresh ideas on how to overcome the block
