Hi Jennifer! I don't know if it is still November 23 with you, but here it is! I loved your book, it gave me so much insight in depression, but I also adored the characters and I I love that there is going to be a movie! And for my question: will you come to the Netherlands? I would absolutely love to meet you! And thanks again for writing this book, it was wonderful!

I love your book, it was amazing. I have read it in english (it's a big thing to me, because I am from Hungary), your book has just recently published here. I am planing to buy it again. :) Right now I am at a reading slump, and it's killing me. Which book was to discourage you again for reading? And do you planning to write another YA book? Sorry if I've made any mistakes, I still learning the langeuge.

Have you read anything by Jandy Nelson or David Levithan? They're my two favorite YA authors. I especially love I'll Give You the Sun and Everyday/Another Day. I'm so happy you'll have so much involvement in the movie&choosing the actor for Finch-who plays him is the most important part for me&I was worrying so much before I found out you were choosing. I've 100% faith in you&know you'll choose perfectly. This book means the entire world to me&so many others&I know you'll absolutely do it justice. Have you considered Jack Kilmer? Someone suggested him&now I can't unsee it!xx

Hi Jennifer! I am a huge fan of this book and really can't wait for the movie adaptation. I absolutely love the casting of Elle Fanning as Violet Markey. Do you have a shortlist for Finch that you can share with us? Also, I saw that you're writing the screenplay, will you also have some producer/creative control over the film?
Jennifer Niven Thank you so much for reading! I'm so happy you love the idea of Elle Fanning as Violet. Did you know that Elle was who I pictured when I was writing the book? Unfortunately, I can't share the Finch shortlist right now, but I'm dying to! Just know that I take reader suggestions very seriously, and many readers have suggested some great actors who are now on our list. (How's that for a sort of hint?) Yes, I'm writing the script and I'm thrilled about it! The director and producers are being so lovely to include me in the casting process and other behind-the-scenes matters, so that I feel very involved in the creative process, which makes it even more exciting. :) xxxx

Will you be doing a book signing in Ohio or Indiana??
Jennifer Niven Yes! I don't have a specific date yet, but we will be shooting the ATBP movie in Indiana and possibly Ohio in the spring, so I will be around... Do you have any future plans of coming to India? Your Indian fans here are going crazy!<3
Jennifer Niven I would love to come to India! As of right now, my publisher doesn't have any plans to send me there, but it would be a dream come true. I want to meet all of my Indian fans and thank you all for reading the book! xoxo

I love ATBP so, so much! Finch and Violet have a little place in my heart and I don't think they're ever leaving. I absolutely cannot wait for the movie and wanted to know if a cast for Finch has been decided yet? If not, who's your dream cast – how did you imagine Finch while writing him?
Jennifer Niven Thank you so much for reading! I'm so happy Finch and Violet have a place in your heart. :) The casting of Finch hasn't been decided yet. We're compiling a list of actors and are hearing from many actors who are interested in the role. We'll be officially casting in the next month or two, so I should be able to tell you more soon. I'm so excited! The person I pictured when writing Finch was Nicholas Hoult as he was in Warm Bodies or Skins. But now he's too grown up and manly for the role, so we need to find someone age appropriate. I can't wait! xx

Hi Jennifer, ATBP has absolutely changed my life in so many ways and this book will be my favourite forever and always, I am completely in love with it and Finch, and you for writing it in the first place! I'm getting my first tattoo in a couple of months and it's from the book! I'll be sure to show you when I get it. Did you name him Finch maybe from the legendary literature hero and ideal father Atticus Finch? :)
Jennifer Niven Not consciously, but To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books, and I'm sure that's where I got the name Finch. :)

What gave you the idea to make ATBP? Did any books, authors, or people inspire you?
Jennifer Niven I wrote ATBP because I had known a boy like Finch and lived through a similar experience. So I really just wrote about something I knew. YA literature in general inspired me to finally write this story I'd been carrying around for so long because so much of what's being written now is brave and honest, and tackles hard subjects.
