I usually switch projects. If I write myself in a corner, or don't like the plot twist, or whatever, I will switch to another of my dozen projects and get my mind off that one. In a few days, a week, or even a year, I'll come back to it and it will look new again...the thoughts will be fresh and the story will finish itself.
I rarely stop writing...keep working on a project.

Two things:
1. The feeling of accomplishment when you hold a book--YOUR BOOK--in your hands.
2. Meeting people who loved your book and want to read more. Its a real motivator.

Write, write, write, write, and write some more.
The only way to get better--to learn and grow as an author--is to put pen to paper and write. Get someone you trust--an editor, an old English teacher--to proof it and provide input. Don't take criticism personally, you need the feedback to grow!

I have a very vivid imagination and writing is my outlet. Its like therapy for me. I can write about a planet, an alien civilization, or an historical event and loose myself for a few hours. Take a rest from reality.

My most recent book is the end of a trilogy about time traveling assassins. The idea came from talking with some college aged men and women and realizing that they knew very little about historical events. So I thought about a way to make history fun and exciting--sending people back in time to fix historical events into what actually happened.
