Caron Rider I read an article about an asteroid and asked myself the question, "What if?" It just kind of went from there.
Caron Rider I usually look at nature to inspire my writing. A light breeze ruffling the leaves of the trees in the woods with the birds singing and crickets chirping is calming and soothing. It allows my mind and imagination to fly free.
Caron Rider My current project is Far Away Kingdom. It is a novel which transforms two beloved children's tales by George MacDonald into one cohesive fantasy that focuses on adventure and features updated language and new scenes.
Caron Rider My advice is to not listen to anyone who says you can't write. I did that for many years. Then I discovered that not everyone will like your writing, but guess what? A lot of people will! So, write and keep on writing. You will eventually find an audience.
Caron Rider The best thing about being a writer is imagining the excitement of the reader. I picture my son reading the story and anticipate his reaction.
Caron Rider This sounds really bad because I know some people suffer from it, but I don't. There are times when a scene won't come together right away. When that happens, I usually talk it out with someone, you know, use them as a sounding board. Then I go finish the scene. But I've never just been stumped and unable to continue writing.
