Hands down - readers. It is still somewhat of a miracle to me that people (people I don't even know!) are reading something I made up. I LOVE to hear from readers. I want people to enjoy my stories and use them to reflect on their own lives/world. When I hear that I've done that, well, it makes my day. Okay, I meant my month. At least.

I'm not a fan of that word "inspired." It's too easy to be uninspired and play with Legos instead. I have a target word count for every writing day, and I text my hubby when I've reached it. (He's a sales guy - very into incentives and accountability. Very helpful!) I'm getting better at actually writing an outline; knowing what scene(s) I'm working towards helps me move things forward. Though, to be honest, meandering isn't always a bad thing - I often figure out some key things about my characters when I put them in unexpected situations.
