Chantel Rhondeau Shower, fold laundry, play a numbers game on the computer. Anything that is mindless and where I have nothing to do but think. Usually, even if the story has gone silent on me, these sorts of activities perk it up and tell me where to head next.

Also, I don't get blocked often. If it is a bad block, it's because I've messed up in the plot somewhere and need to go figure out what went wrong before my brain will keep moving on. My muse is sneaky like that ;-)
Chantel Rhondeau Wow... this is a hard question. I love everything about it. From discovering my characters and their problems, to interacting with my readers. It's truly my dream job. I guess the best part would be coming out of my shell and being able to talk to people (I'm very introvert and shy).

I have an awesome street team on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/16360... It's a blast talking to the members there and they have become my main support in asking for opinions on cover art, plots, and getting beta reader feedback. It's fantastic to have them!
Chantel Rhondeau Keep writing and have fun. Sometimes it is hard until you figure out what you should be writing (I wanted to write fantasy books since I love to read them, but it just didn't work out for me).

After you figure that out, join a great critique group (there is a great one for free at www.critiquecircle.com) and get all the help you can. Even after writing for a while, you'll be surprised how much you can learn from fellow writers.

Also, bad reviews only sting for a little bit, so don't let fear stop you! Chase that dream and get it!
Chantel Rhondeau Right now, I'm writing For Love or Charity (McCallister's Paradise - 3). This story will follow the only girl of the five McCallister siblings, Syndey. She is so much fun! Really has foot-in-mouth disease and says whatever pops into her head without thinking. That leads to some awkward (and fun) moments.
Chantel Rhondeau I do not pre-plot. I'm learning the story as I write it, and that keeps me wanting to know what will happen next. I love the thrill of seeing the story come together, same way I love it when reading other books.
Chantel Rhondeau I'm currently working on the McCallister Paradise series. The idea for Happing Endings (book 1) started when I was losing my hair from rheumatoid arthritis medication I took at the time.

I looked at message boards for hair loss and came across a breast cancer support site. The courageous women there were talking about the challenges and the feelings they have about losing their hair, and I was in awe of their positive attitudes.

Larissa Burns was born and off I went with her story. It's building from there and I have to say, I love this island!
