L.T. Getty I am currently working on the second book of the Puppet Master Duology. I am waiting for feedback before I revisit and fix book 1, I'm hopeful I can publish the first book in 2024.
L.T. Getty Inspiration can be anything - from a video game to listening to music to having an interest in a particular subject.

Lately my inspiration is coming from listening to other people and the sorts of stories they are interested in.

But don't wait for inspiration. Try to get a habit - or set a goal. Even if you can't commit every day, if you can write 5k a week in 20 weeks that's a 100k novel. It doesn't have to be pretty.
L.T. Getty Hi Lily! I'll take you up on your offee but will continue the review concerns in another messsage.

As for preffering science fiction and fantasy - right now it seems that I prefer to write fantasy but read and watch science fiction. I adore them both as genres and settings, but I find I am not in strong in writing hard science fiction.
L.T. Getty Isn't this a little late to be asking for this year? How about 2020?

I have a handful of ebooks from Project Gutenberg I will be getting to. As always, I'm happiest picking up titles from locals, but I would like to take a chunk out of my to-read list. I also picked up a copy about the History of the Polynesian people while I was in Hawaii. I then got slammed with a bunch of ebook requests, so that one's been on the back burner. We'll see how far I get.
L.T. Getty Narnia. Like, pre The Last Battle.

Not sure if I would be going on adventures with Reepicheep, or slumming it with Puddleglum, but the possibilities are endless. Five bucks says I get kicked out for bad behavior by Aslan Himself.

Does this mean I am going to get cast as some witch realm-hopping? I'd make a rather sub-par villain, if I do say so myself.
L.T. Getty If I don't know what to do I tend to skip it. I don't always write linear - I'll write a scene, or I'll go back and add what I need so that I know what's going on. The first time I write it to tell myself the story.

If the story is at a standstill, I tend to leave it for a while. I usually figure stuff out while I'm doing something active - such as walking my dog, riding my bike, or going kayaking. I'm a very active person, and I find that while I need to create with butt in chair, it's best for me to get the energy flowing by working up a little sweat.
