When I'm writing, I know how my book will begin and end, but it's that gaping abyss in the middle of the story that frightens me.
To avoid writer's block, I force myself to sit down at the computer, read the previous chapter, and start writing. Often things will happen through the characters' dialogue that I didn't plan and that will lead me in unexpected directions. I guess I just have to make my peace with my process and trust that the words will come.
