Hi Celine,
Thank you so, so much for the kind words! There really is nothing better than hearing from a new reader, especially when its an awesome message like this one!
As luck would have it, I have recently completed a new contemporary/psychological romance and I am just in the process of doing my final edits as there are a few things I am not happy with. I am hoping to release it in the next month or so, so I hope you'll keep an eye out for it - it's called RIVEN :)
Again, thanks for reaching out!
Much love
Melissa

I honestly don't believe in writer's block. Look at journalists - they write for a living, under a deadline. What I do believe is that you have good writing days and bad writing days - you can write whenever, but some days you write out of your boots and other days you write rubbish (which can always be edited later ;)). For me, writers block is simply periods of mediocrity.

Hi Stephen,
Unfortunately I am a fiction reader first and foremost, and I don't read inspirational books at all. Perhaps you would have a better result if you contacted reviewers who read similar books to yours. Congrats on the book and sorry I couldn't be of help. Melissa x

Hi Heather!
First - thanks for the question :)
My life has changed in so many ways and in so many ways it has stayed the same.
My working hours are definitely the biggest change. My 8-4.30pm is no longer - now, I tend to write in the evenings when the house is quiet, which sadly eats into my sleep time ;)
Writing is such an incredible journey though... I've had amazing experiences and met so many interesting people since becoming a full-time author. I honestly didn't realise how much of an impact my books would have on people and sometimes it all feels a bit surreal!
It's the best job in the world and I wouldn't change it for anything.
One thing that hasn't changed, though, is my friends and family. They pay no heed to my author status - to them I'm still cook, cleaner and general dog's body ;)

Hi Frieda!
Thanks for the question. It's a tricky one to answer, to be honest.., it depends what you are in the mood for :)
The Legacy Trilogy is a dystopian action-adventure series and is read in this order:
1.The Legacy
2.The Legion
3. The Legend
Rainfall is a psychological romance and very popular with my lady readers.
The Traveler is a paranormal romance, but the sequel will only be released this year.
The Guardians of Summerfeld series is a fantasy series and is read in the following order:
1. The Cathedral of Cliffdale
2. The Fight of the Fallen
3. The Hope of Hawkstone
4. The Balance of the Blood.
I really hope that helps, and THANK you so much for giving my books a try! I'd love to hear what you think :)
Much love

Hi Kim!
I'm not sure which of my books you are referring to, so I will give you a summary of all :)
The Legacy Trilogy - aimed at ages 16+, although people as young as 14 and as old as 82 have enjoyed it! It has many of the fundamental basics of a YA novel, but the single defining characteristic of a YA is that the protagonists are teenagers, whereas The Legacy's main characters are between 24 and 30 years old. The book is aimed at a very broad audience, and can be read by pretty much anyone who enjoys a good action adventure!
The Traveler - much like The Legacy and aimed at anyone over 16.
Rainfall - as a romance, Rainfall contains more explicit sex scenes than my other books (although it is not erotica!) and to be safe I would say that a 16/18+ audience is more appropriate.
I hope this helps!

Hi Patti,
I am not sure which book you are referring to, but my independent titles are available only on Amazon. Unfortunately, being a SA resident, it is very difficult to open foreign banking accounts, which are a pre-requisite to load on a variety of other platforms. I literally couldn't do it even if I wanted to :(
I do like the Kindle Select platform, because authors are allowed quarterly promotions, which helps boost sales. We are only able to use these marketing tools if we list exclusively with Amazon, and seeing as though my wings are clipped already, I make full use of these.
I hope that helps!

My children, without a doubt, are the most gratifying thing in my life. I incorporated this into The Legacy Trilogy through Rebecca's relationship with her son. The other thing that means the world to me is the ability to write for a living, which is an amazing blessing. In Rainfall, Paige reflects this, as she is a writer. xxx

Hi Jeanie!
That's a tough one, but I think Henry Cavill - particularly after seeing this picture! :) http://masspictures.net/wp-content/up...

I am currently completing The Legend - the final book in The Legacy Trilogy, which is due for release in Feb 2015. I am under deadline to have the final manuscript completed by the end of September, so I am hard at work!

Hi Denise!
She is not, no, but this is an understandable question. Being in South Africa, our editors automatically default to the UK English, even when the setting is American.
I have had feedback that this is very jarring for the American readers, and given that the setting is NY/California I have decided to have the Amazon version reformatted using US English, but it will only be effective in 2 or 3 months.
I hope that it didn't spoil the read for you :(
Thanks for your question and have a wonderful day.
Much Love
Melissa
