I keep a muse in a salt shaker next to my writing desk. Every day before I write I turn it upside down and sprinkle a little muse-dust across my keyboard. Works like a charm.

I open up my skull, pull the ol' brain out, stick it in a vice, and squeeze until the creative juices come out. It takes a lot. The best creative juices are buried deep with in the imaginatorial cortex and that thing's a bugger to squeeze dry.

Write the damn book! Seriously, that's it. There's a torrent of information about how to write better and how to get published, but none of that matters if you don't write the damn book. The whole process is daunting, but stick with it and you can do it.

I've always enjoyed super hero stories and wanted to write a book about one. It took me a while to come up with an "original" idea that I liked and I'm finally getting around to writing it.
