I really enjoyed Summer of 69. Lots of history worked into inter-generational romance.

I am embarrassed to say that I've never had it. For years, I wrote short stories for New York. Just sat down two nights a week (I had a full time job) and one day a weekend and typed. I kept a folder full of clips from newspapers and magazines. Kind of idea starters. Now I keep my excel sheet for each of my two series and I'm never at a loss. So grateful for that. Readers will let me know what they want and usually I'm right there with them!

Independence. I get to develop what I want, take any path I choose. And I love connecting with my readers. That has been such an unexpected blessing, getting to know them. The other authors are also wonderful to know and so supportive but the readers? They point out what is obvious, that I might miss!

Keep writing. Just sit down and write. Don't wait for inspiration. You can always revise. But you can't revise what you have not gotten down on a page.

I'm going to take one of the characters who has suffered a terrible loss and develop her story.

Like a lot of writers, I love to read. Growing up, I was tall and gawky. Not particularly popular. I read all the time. Even had a book open in my lap in fifth grade, when one of the good sisters took me out into the hall. Later, I taught for 8 years and I would have been sooo offended if any student had done that!

Lake Michigan is a special place for me. I grew up going to the beach and later lived in a beach community. The Man from Yesterday series takes place in a Michigan town I know well and love.
