I get a lot of follows on Twitter and here's the thing, unless it's someone I know personally or professionally, I always check to see who they are before deciding whether or not to follow back..

Often they are brand new tweeters. Often, all I get is a blank header with their twitter name and a one word description - possibly writer. Sometime not even that.

Yesterday was one of those very special days for an author. I took a call from someone I'd never met, who had called me from the USA to tell me that my book, The Sheikh's Convenient Princess, had been shortlisted for the Romance Writers of America's prestigious Rita award.


There are some big gaps in my life, people who are no longer around to share this wonderful news, but I called my

Ally Parker, the heroine of The Bridesmaid's Royal Bodyguard - part of the #invitationtoaroyalwedding series from Tule - was not only one of Hope Kennard's bridesmaids.

Hope wanted her wedding to take place from her home, Hasebury Hall, in the pretty Cotswold village of Combe St Philip and, at Hope's request, Ally agreed to take on the local PR element of the wedding.
