Recipe Friday -- Conversation Coffee Cake!

Thanks to Cathy for trying the Pumpkin Crumb Cake and reporting back to us that it was yummy, but that it needs to cook a bit longer than the 30 minutes stated in the recipe.

I really pondered about whether or not to post this recipe this week -- Conversation Coffee Cake. It looks SO yummy, but it's another recipe that doesn't have the exact directions.  People like me need to know what temp and how long to bake!

So -- anyone feeling adventuresome about trying this one?

Conversation Coffee Cake

1 T. yeast

3 T. butter

2 T. brown sugar

1 1/2 tsp. salt

3/4 c. milk, scalded

1/4 c. warm water

2 1/2 to 3 c. flour

Mix together and let rise, then shape into rectangle pieces and arrange on a pizza pan, after rolling in 1/3 cup melted butter and topping.  Let rise and bake.

Topping:

3/4 c. brown sugar

1/4 c. white sugar

2 tsp. cinnamon

3/4 c. nuts

Hope to hear from someone!

ACFW Conference 2010 Pictures

I am so sorry I didn't blog more while I was at the ACFW Conference in Indianapolis.  I had the best of intentions, but it was super busy, and by the time we returned to our room, we fell into bed!  I also missed "Recipe Friday" last week due to my travels, but look for a yummy new recipe here on Friday!

Here we are at PF Changs Restaurant -- I'm sitting with my agent, Mary Sue Seymour, and standing are Mary Sue's other clients (left to right) Vannetta Chapman, Kelly Irvin, and Shelley ...

ACFW Conference 2010 -- Day 1

Hello from Indianapolis!  The ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) Conference officially starts today at 3 p.m., but folks were strolling in all afternoon yesterday, including me and my dear friend Carol Voelkel.  This is Carol's first time to be at the conference as an 'agented writer', and we met with her agent last night.  Much excitement in the air!  Hoping Carol sells her fabulous series very soon!  She has appointments to 'pitch' her series to editors tomorrow and Sunday.

An Amish Love by Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Long

An Amish Love is a collection of novellas by me, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Long -- releasing in December, in time for Christmas!  I just received the back cover copy from our publisher, so I wanted to share!  It's available for pre-order everywhere that books are sold.  Can't wait for everyone to read our stories.  We have crossover characters, and these are so much fun to write!

Romance is in the air, old-fashioned courtship is alive and well, and love is an eternal promise.

Recipe Friday! Amish Pizza Pie!

Happy Friday Everyone!

When I was in Colorado visiting with my Amish friends, one of the things I asked was whether or not they go out to eat much.  My friend said that if they do go out to eat, it's usually for pizza.  I have one of her cookbooks, and apparently pizza is a favorite because there are several recipes involving pizza---Upside-Down Pizza, Pizza Burgers, Crockpot Pizza, two recipes for Chicken Fajita Pizza, and two recipes for pizza dough...along with the recipe I'm sharing toda...

New York Amish and Book Giveaway!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I wanted to share an interview that my assistant Janet ran across -- about Amish in New York.  There are several opportunities to win a copy of Karen Johnson-Weiner's book--New York Amish: Life in the Plain Communities of the Empire State.  The article states that this is the first book to explore Amish settlements in New York.  I don't know Karen, and I haven't read the book, but I'm hoping to.

Click on the link to read the article and sign up for an opportunity...
