"Every city has its own gang history, part of Chicago's are Gang cards, most prominent in the 70's and early 80's, back in the day when a gang was more of a neighborhood crew then what it is today."

DO ANYTHING 001
First edition of my new column at bleedingcool: sort of an introduction.
I have the head of Jack Kirby in my office.
I built it myself. Which means, this being the late-postmodern 21st Century, I stole it from someone else and then tinkered with it until it became a transformative work. What I actually did was steal the Hanson Robotics-designed android head of Philip K Dick off an airplane, resculpted the front and filled its brain with the work of, interviews with and anecdotes about Jack Kirby

5Lights
The 5Lights Project, run by Katie West and Lou Noble:
Awhile ago Warren Ellis had posted an idea on his site called ROTOR - essentially a rotation of artists generating content for free online. We liked this idea, specifically this part: “tumblr version of same: one writer, one illustrator, one photographer, one musician, one video/filmmaker = five slots.” So we decided to make it happen.

Hack/Fraud Warning: MachineKunt
My friend Anna Young just dropped me this note:
My friend Rachel (Experiment Haywire) is staying at my place this weekend. She was telling me that her [record label site:] MachineKunt was hacked and someone was impersonating her. They created a fraud site to get money from her fans. She posted info about this on her site http://thehaywire.net and is trying to spread the word to as many other indie artists as possible, so they don’t get ripped off too and can stand up for their rights as artists.

Bleeding Cool, Rich Johnston’s new comics news/views site, launched earlier today.
Not sure if my column for the site pushes live this week or next, right now.
