Release date - September 19th
I finally have a release date for my 2nd book. It's called 'A Temporary Situation' and its released by Loose id on Tuesday September 19th.
I'm still waiting on the cover, so I'm excited to see what its going to look like.
It seems to have taken an awfully long time to get to this point with the 2nd book. Not sure it actually has, it probably just feels like it.
In the meantime, the 3rd book, albeit a lot shorter is only a few weeks short of being finished and sent to a publisher, and the 4th book is already at around 55 000 words. So, here's hoping that the next gap won't be quite so long - fingers crossed.

Publisher mystery solved
So, I've whinged a couple of times on here that I've been waiting to hear back from a publisher in the hope of actually getting a second book out there. Well, it was seven weeks yesterday. I've kept telling myself that they say it could be up to 8 weeks so I need to be patient. Not a strong point of mine - I'll be honest.
For some reason yesterday, I went back and read their submission guidelines. I suddenly noticed it said that I should have had acknowledgement of the e-mail within 5-7 days.
Hang on, I thought - that's weird. I didn't get any acknowledgement. Is it possible that the e-mail never got there? Have I been waiting on something that I'm never going to hear about? So, I e-mailed and got a response back within a few hours. No- they have no record of the e-mail. I could kick myself for not having checked sooner. So, now I'm back to square one - with a possible 8 week wait. To be fair, they said they would try and expedite it, so I'm hoping I might hear one way or the other a bit sooner than that.
Note to self - always read and re-read ALL the guidelines and then I won't be sat around waiting for something that's never going to happen.
First time feeling like an idiot in 2017. Probably, the first of many :D

The Goodreads reading Challenge!
Oh look a second blog - coming less than a year after my other one - go me!
Anyway, the Goodreads reading challenge - I don't get it. I would have thought that anyone who is into books enough to be on Goodreads wouldn't need to set themselves a challenge to read more. I love the fact the default is set at about 12 books. I probably read 12 books in a month. If anything I need to set myself a challenge to read less. That might make me write more.
Speaking of writing - still waiting to hear from the bloody publisher. A week today if I still haven't heard anything, I'll finally be able to e-mail and ask what's going on. It's been a long, long wait - not sure whether the long wait is a good or a bad sign. Basically, its starting to mess with my mind now. I really want to get that second book out.
Oh, and happy new year. Xx

My first blog - random thoughts with very little substance.
I've never used this blog!
What am I meant to write? Will anyone actually bother to read it? What's the point of it? If I write something today-will it be the usual thing, where I write a few things and then realise months later, that I've forgotten to write anything?
Okay...so I may over think things, sometimes (most of the time).
So...erm...what to write. It's just over a year since my first book was published. 1 year 2 days to be exact. I've had some lovely reviews-not very many reviews in total, but I suppose that's to be expected as a new author. Plus, I'm terrible at writing reviews myself. I've decided that I really should make more of an effort in the new year- even if it's a very short one. Better one sentence than nothing. Let's see how long I keep that one up.
I have written a 2nd book. I'm in that horrible stage of waiting to hear from the publisher. It'll be six weeks this Sunday - seems like forever.
I started a 3rd book. I'd decided to try and write something a little bit different: throw a bit of sci-fi in there- mess about with the chronology a little bit. After three weeks it was going nowhere, so I gave up. Now writing something much simpler, and much more smut focused. I may return to the other one...or it may never see the light of day. I still haven't finished the first book I ever started writing. It remains unfinished at 25 000 words. I will finish that one, one day. It's only going to be a novella. I reckon another 10 000-15 000 words and it would be done.
Anyway, to say I had nothing to write, I've rambled on long enough. 1st blog post done. Let's see how long it takes me to post a second. Probably either tomorrow, or in a years time.
