Talyn: Blooming is up to about 55,000 words, and the primary plot is getting going in the background. While I have the overarching plot determined, there are a lot of details still up in the air, and I’m excited to see what Talyn makes of the story. It’s going to be chaotic, that much is for certain.

Beyond that, there isn’t much to say about the coming (or past) week. I’m just trying to focus on getting a book written, dang it!

This week I got the new Talyn book up to about 40,000 words. I’ve also stolen part of the title from Bloom of Chaos and titled it Talyn: Blooming. The Evelyn book will be renamed when I get back to it… anyway, not a huge deal. It just felt more appropriate to the Talyn book than to Evelyn, this time.

The next Talyn’s Saga book is at about 25,000 words, and I’m doing pretty well with it, even if it’s already taken a turn I didn’t expect. I’m not arguing with it, as it doesn’t alter my plans for the book! I always find it interesting when characters surprise me.

I’m hoping this coming week will be equally productive, and I’m enjoying what I’m writing, which is excellent. I’m also considering editing and publishing one of the two books of a new series I’ve been sitting on (Embers of War and ...

I finished reviewing Talyn: Repose this past week, and I started working on the next book. I already had some work done on the manuscript, since I had a few ideas I wanted in it, so it’s up to about 10,000 words. Beyond that, I have a good idea of the conflicts which will be incorporated into the book, so I think it’ll be fun! We’ll see if it works out the way I expect it to.

Another change of plans, and this time not for the better.

I sent the manuscript of Bloom of Chaos off to my beta readers, and the overall reaction was that it was okay. Not great, not terrible, but low-energy compared to most of the Evelyn books. Unfortunately, ‘okay’ isn’t good enough for Evelyn, so I’m going to be taking drastic measures.

Remember how I said I was hoping to do two more parts in Bloom of Chaos? Yeah, I decided otherwise. It’s currently sitting at about 107,000 words, and I’m looking into new editors at the moment. I’m not going to set a release date until I have an editor, so you’ll have to wait for at least a couple of weeks before I can set one. It’ll be in February at the earliest, probably late February at best.

Bloom of Chaos is up to about 104,000 words, and I’m wrapping up Part 3 now! I expect to do either one or two more parts, probably two, with one being more down-tempo compared to many. This entire book is less focused on actual threats to Evelyn’s life or lifestyle, though.

Anyway, Bloom of Chaos is up to ~97,500 words, and is coming along reasonably well. I’m still working my way up in terms of how much I write. I also received the first sketch for the cover, so that’s all going well. I hope to share it soon!
