Femme de théâtre à part entière, Anne Delbée est à la fois comédienne, metteur en scène, directrice de compagnie et pédagogue. Elle a souvent collaboré avec Antoine Vitez, et a signé la mise en scène d’une cinquantaine de spectacles pour le théâtre et l’opéra. On retiendra : La Traviata de Verdi, Don Giovanni de Mozart, Les Brigands de Schiller, L’Aiglon de Rostand, Othello de Shakespeare, Phèdre de Racine, Suréna de Corneille, Hernani de Hugo.

De Claudel, elle a porté à la scène plusieurs pièces dont Tête d’Or à la Maison de la Culture d’Angers en 1983 qu’elle reprendra à la Comédie Française en 2006.
