Why This? Why Now?
This story originally came to life fifteen years ago. Yes, you read that correctly. FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. Chick lit was taking off. People were going crazy over stories that dropped name brands, sex, and the glamorous life style.
My publisher wanted to get in the game and launch a chick line, so they asked me to write one of the launch books. In return, I'd get huge promo because they were launching a new line.
Who's going to say no to that, right? Not me!
So I wrote one. But here's the thing. You guys have all read my books. I don't write glitz, glam, name brands, and sex for the sake of sexing it up. I write powerful stories of women finding their strength, their identity, and their path in life, no matter what genre of mine you pick up to read.
After I was finished, I handed in what was basically my version of a chick lit, which really didn't fit the assignment I was given. Name brands were missing. Glitz and glam were non-existent. Shopping didn't happen even once (but there was lots of chocolate). It was a funny, heartwarming, relatable romp about a woman fighting to find her way, to break away from the influences her family held on her, amid laughter, love, and friendship.
And you know what? My publisher LOVED it and put it up front and center in all the promo for the new chick lit line, even though it really didn't fit the chick lit that was all the rage.
Eventually, I got the rights back from my publisher, but I didn't do anything with it. I felt like my readers were more interested in my paranormal romances, my romantic suspense novels, and my contemporary romance stories. So, it sat on my computer.
Then earlier this year, when all hell broke loose, things changed for me. As you may remember, Burn was born from the pressure of trying to stay positive. And One More Kiss is coming back to life.
Why?
Because right now, we need stories that make us laugh. Stories that aren't afraid to look at life with a little bit of irrevenrece and humor, even when it's knocking us right over. Stories about women who know they are meant for more and are willing to fight through tradition, social pressure, and their own internal limitations to find their own self worth.
Because it's not until we finally accept our own worthiness that life can become the beautiful journey it was meant to be.
I wanted to give that message out to the world, so I dusted off this story. I rewrote large portions of it to make it more romantic, more emotional, and more resilient. I gave it a new title and cover to reflect the more romantic and personal direction of the story..
And now... I'm putting it out there for you.
I'll be straight up with you: it has a fantastic happily ever after, worthy of any sigh-worthy romance. But it also has a woman's personal journey as she struggles to find her way to that end. It's HER story, and romantic love is one part of her journey. It's written in first person, which gives hilarious insight into her mind, which is just as crazy as we all are inside our own heads sometimes!
The main character may be in her early-ish twenties, but her struggle to find her way and her self-worth is one that we all can learn from.
It's meaningful. It's romantic. And it is completely irreverent, sassy, and unapologetic.
One More Kiss. Fifteen years percolating, and now only ten days away.
Curious? Check it out here. Preorder if it sounds like something that might give you the laughter that we all so desperately need right now:

Title Help Needed!
Help me pick my next Wyoming Rebels title!
I'm twenty-five percent through the first draft of the next Wyoming Rebels book (hooray!), and I need your help with a title. I've narrowed it down to a few finalists, and it would be AWESOME if you'd pop over and vote and let me know what you like!
