A Summer Shout Out
Hello Friends, Family, Fans, and anyone who may have landed here by mistake....
My last post was back in MAY! Crikey - who hit the fast forward button?! I can't believe summer is coming to an end. Unlike some parents who can't wait to send their kids back to school, I dread the thought. It makes me sad. And it makes me angry when Target puts out their school supplies around the 4th of July. That's just cruel. There should be a law against it. Just like they shouldn't be allowed to put out Christmas merchandise before Halloween.
Okay, enough of the cranky, old lady talk....I didn't come here to complain. I came here to tell you I will be at The Book Beat's 30th Anniversary Party on Sunday, August 19th, from 12:30-2:30 PM. There will be live music, prizes, and a taco truck. Tacos and books, people! The celebration will also include lots of great authors and illustrations. Visit The Book Beat's website for full details. http://www.thebookbeat.com/shop/index.php
The Book Beat is located at 26010 Greenfield, in Oak Park, Michigan.
I hope to see you there! If not, enjoy the rest of your summer. *sob*

Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

The CRAFTY CHLOE book tour is winding down, but there are still two big events coming up that I'm really excited about. Illustrator, Heather Ross, and I will be reading CRAFTY CHLOE at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on the Target Stage - Saturday, April 21st at 4:25 PM. We will be autographing copies of the book following our performance.
On Sunday, April 22nd we will return to the festival to sign books @ 11:00 AM at the Once Upon A Time booth (#774).
The festival is a free, public event held on the campus of USC. For more information about the festival, click HERE.
On Saturday, April 28th, I will be in Cincinnati, Ohio visiting the awesome Blue Manatee Children's Bookstore. Storytime begins at 11:30 AM. Click HERE for details.
Before I sign off, I thought I'd share this GREAT news...
CRAFTY CHLOE won the "Great Lakes, Great Reads" award for best children's picture book, Winter '12! Thank you, Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Association!
