Shunning is a particular practice that takes place in certain so called Christian sects. I refer to those such as the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Exclusive Brethren, recently re-branded as the
Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.
Should a follower disobey the rules as set out by their church, they may be cut adrift from their family and friends who remain part of the sect.
At my book launch of my debut novel 'Righteous Release' I invited 2 ex followers of the Exclusive Brethren to tell us about the way they had been treated. One had not seen family members for over 20 twenty years which had caused her a great deal of distress. To me the practice of shunning is unacceptable. What do you think?

Many people have read my books but few have ever sat down and written a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Other writers have made similar comments. I am intrigued to find out why readers are so reluctant to make their opinions
known. Could it be that they just don't like the book they have just read or, are they concerned about their own English or whatever the language they speak in. I would be very interested to hear the views of others.
