It's been over fifteen years since I wrote a short story . . . as I tend to "think" at the novel length. But last year, I was invited to write a story for an SF/Fantasy anthology in which all tales would be set in the old west. I thought it sounded like fun. Faith Hunter, Laura Anne Gilman, and Seanan McGuire also wrote new stories.

My contribution is titled, "The Time Traveling Schoolmarms of Marlborough County." I had a good time writing it.

So . . . last year, I signed a contract for a two-book deal with Kensington for books one and two in the Dark Glass Series. Keep in mind that I tend to “hang out” both in person and online with a lot of other writers. I think that’s normal for someone who’s been in the biz as long as I have.
