I enjoyed this book and its characters, but the ending was so rushed (and too perfect) for me to really enjoy it. I like books with a bit of real life in them. The audition was just too much.

The biggest issue I had with this book is with its editor. I don't understand why someone didn't take this (young) author in hand and tell her, use different phrasing, stop repeating descriptions, make your characters a bit more diverse in tone. If I ...more

This felt clunky and repetitive, though. I wish there had been a longer epilogue--I would have been more interested in the years between Haymitch's victory and Katniss' reaping. Maybe not fun to read, but I've seen enough deaths in the arena. ...more
