Pronoun Problems (Macmillan Again)

The kerfluffle has gone another round.  John Sargent, CEO at Macmillan, has penned an open letter to Macmillan authors and illustrators, with a CC to literary agents.
Already I'm confused.  All agents?  Just those agents with clients at Macmillan?  There is a difference.  But, since I'm definitely a Macmillan author, whose Amazon buttons have yet to [...:]

With apologies to R. W. Emerson

So, I'm still doing the Zumba thing at the Wellness Center.  My knees are handling it, but all that bouncing around has a tendency to loosen my shoelaces.
Fortunately, I recalled that less than a month ago, Lifehacker had a post on this very problem…

I've added buttons for a standard RSS feed and a comments feed to to the sidebar…just in case anyone wants to follow conversations as they evolve.
And there's an interesting conversation evolving at;

Is there an entrepreneur in the house?

This morning's email brought me a message from the Authors Guild, of which I am a longtime member.  You can read it for yourselves here—in fact, they're encouraging me to "feel free to forward, post, or tweet."
Clearly, my Guild is part of Team Macmillan.  I'm not going to mail my membership card back to [...:]

Foresight…hindsight

As I sit here prepping Daughter of the Bright Moon for its ascent into Closed Circle, I've realized that the dialog I wrote for Rifkind and Ejord in 1980 would be perfect for NCIS' Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo.
I think that's a good thing….maybe

What I learned today…

Today I got a taste of the power of the social side of the Internet.  Intellectually, I've been aware of it for quite a while, but today I learned it in my gut.
Last night I was moved to hammer out some opinions on the Amazon/Macmillan/iPad/etc event.  I expected to share them with about twenty people….this [...:]

Notes for a future history

When the dust settles, whenever that may be, and the publishing paradigms have completed their shift, the events of the past few days are likely to merit a footnote or two….or maybe they'll be the proverbial Guns of August.
A quick recap….in case you've been vacationing out beyond the orbit of Jupiter:
First, after about a [...:]

New Year's Resolutions

I made several and made good (finally) on one of them today.
I have a gym membership, but it's been a while…a couple whiles, at least…since I've paid a visit.
But things have been going better.  I've written new prose (a little) every day for over a week and the Daughter of the Bright Moon proofread/prep for [...:]

At Play

Today I joined goodreads.
You can find me (I think….hope) here.
I've added a mess of books, sorted them into "bookshelves" that appear to bear little resemblance to anyone else's shelves (hope that's not going to be a problem) and (much to my surprise) managed to put a bit of cover-age in the sidebar.
That's enough excitement….although the [...:]

What if?

My daily drift net caught this video for the second time and I watched for the second time (I recommend muting the sound track.  I don't have anything against women singing Ave Maria, but, IMHO, the hymn adds nothing to this video).
Together, SF and Fantasy are the genre of exponential What Ifs, but my mind [...:]
