Two Pomeranians and a Pekingese were smuggled off in lifeboats concealed in blankets  

a Scottish Deerhound deboarded moments before leaving port

the captain returning the dog to his young daughter.

One woman lived the rest of her life haunted by the memory of her Poodle clinging to her pajamas as she left her cabin. The rip of fabric. The panicked cry. The scritch of nails on the wood of the cabin door.

Another left a lifeboat after being told her Great Dane was too largeto be permitted to join her. Their bodies were found, days late. The woman frozen, still clutching her dog.

Who made the right choice?

Someone opened kennel doors freeing them to run the sinking decks.

After years of writing for dog magazines, and writing books about other things I’m thrilled to announce that my first dog book has been acquired by Mango Publishing – I’m in the process of writing “TRICKS IN THE CITY: For Daring Doggos and the Humans That Love Them”!!!!!!!!!

This is going to be a really fun/quirky book  – I’m currently have a call out for high resolution photographs of trick dogs from around the world to include in the book-

‘m collecting high resolution (JPG or PNG images @300dpi) pics of dogs doing all kinds of tricks- these pictures will be published in the book (if your picture is used you will get a PDF copy of the book). Please send questions and pictures to [email protected] and I will respond with a photo release form to be signed. All sizes, breeds and mixed breeds of dogs welcome & encouraged! NO prong collars, e-collars allowed

The day I signed the contract to publish this book I went to the mailbox and discovered my Gold Level Trainer award from DMWYD in recognition of the number of trick dog titles I have reviewed/awarded to dogs all over the world!
