WELCOME NEW FRIENDS!!

Usually when I make a new friend on goodreads, I send them a personal thank you.
If you've been following my blog, you know that I recently acquired a package and shipping business. I've been VERY BUSY running it with only my daughter (partner) and it looks as though business is picking up. That's good news and bad news. Good news because we're pulling in some money; Bad news because I don't see how I'm going to be able to keep up with all the friend requests.
I am sending out a blanket THANK YOU to all the new friends I have recently made and ask each one of you to check out my debut novel, Her Sanctuary. It's available at amazon.com and 25,000 other bookstore websites.
I ask that you spread the word to all your friends and family and go on goodreads and recommend it. If you need help navigating the "recommend it" feature, just shoot me a message. I really need all the help I can get. :)
I love you all and I promise to keep in touch as much as time will allow.
Take care :) Her Sanctuary by P.Q. Glisson

Review

Secrets (Volume, #6) Secrets by MaryJanice Davidson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay, so this is my very first review of a compilation of short stories, but I had to let everyone know what a fantastic book this is, especially since my husband found it lying in the middle of the highway and picked it up for me.

Flint's Fuse by Sandy Fraser is the yummy story of a rich influential man's daughter and the man he hired to kidnap her. Yes, her father had her kidnapped, for her own good. Evidently there are some very bad men who might use her as a pawn and knowing that his daughter Dana Madison, fiesty and stubborn wouldn't go willingly, he hired Flint to get her out of the way.

The story is set mostly in the log cabin he has taken her to and she stays tied up most of the time, but that doesn't keep the sparks from flying as she does everything she can to seduce her way out of her situation.

5 Stars on this steamy little romp.

Love's Prisoner by Maryjanice Davidson is a really cool werewolf love story with plenty of action that starts out with Jeannie and Michael stuck in an elevator together. No light and no electricity, but outside the moon is rising and with no way out, Michael has no choice but to change in front of Jeannie. As he feels the change coming, his animal instincts tell him that Jeannie is destined to be his mate and he takes her in the elevator.

Afterward, mortified and pretty sure she'd just been raped, Jeannie and can't get away from him fast enough. He helps her escape through the top hatch and just as he's about to climb out, the cable breaks and he falls to his death, or so she thinks. Torn between relief and grief, she tries to go on with her life, but a couple of weeks later, he shows up at her door, informing her that she's pregnant with his child and therefore she belongs to him. He takes her to his house for protection. There is a rival clan out to usurp his position as head of the pack and would kill Jeannie to keep Michael's heir from being born.

His job has just begun as he struggles to convince her she belongs to him. There are lots of "make you blush to your toes" scenes and the plot moves very quickly. I love this one. It was my favorite and it definitely deserves 5 stars.

The Education of Miss Felicity Wells by Alice Gaines was set at the turn of the century. Felicity is engaged and wants to become very good regarding matters of the bedroom, so she goes to Marcus Slade, infamous Libertine. He is hired to instruct her but the only catch is he cannot deflower her. Anything and everything else is allowed. Let me just say, Professor Slade is a very imaginable man.

This story was fun and the ending, though expected, was not disappointing. I also give this little romp 5 stars.

A Candidate for a Kiss by Angela Knight was a vampire short story that was full of humor and oooh la la hot lovemaking scenes that made my temperature rise. Dana was a reporter who had put herself in a precarious position to get the story of the year. Archer was a secret agent working for an elite government force who happened to be a vampire. As soon as he lays eyes on Dana, he realizes she is the perfect candidate for the "dark kiss", meaning she is one of like a zillion people who can survive being turned into a vampire. He wants to seduce her into it but his boss has other plans and orders him to do it. As a patriot, Archer has no choice but to follow orders but he will give it his best shot first.

I loved this one too. It was a close second on my favs list. I also give this one 5 stars.

Here's the thing. All the stories were great. How come I didn't know these books even existed? This is volume 6 but I just saw where one of my goodreads friends had marked volume #25! I've got to get my hands on another one soon!

Caution: These books are not for pre-teens and young teens. There is explicit sex scenes that are not for young readers. Strictly adult fare.

Hi everyone! I've been crazy networking these past few weeks and in the process of purchasing a small packaging and shipping business so I've neglected my blog. Book Review/Rabbit. Chasing Beth Rider

Rabbit: Chasing Beth Rider Rabbit: Chasing Beth Rider by Ellen C. Maze

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've been thinking about how to write this review all day. It's going to be very difficult to explain all the different reasons why I loved this book, but I'll try:

It's a totally new concept. The story is fresh and I didn't know what to expect. I was so pleasantly surprised that I could be surprised. I have this horrible habit of trying to guess the outcome of a book (I guess it's the writer in me), but the story of a race of vampires (Rakum) and their social structure, living amongst the human population, feeding from volunteers (cows). Some of them even develop emotional bonds with their "donors". Life for the Rakum has been privileged and spoiled for thousands of years. They take extremely beautiful women and use them as breeders to enlarge their numbers, raising the "pups", teaching them their ways.

If a Rakum becomes a traitor or a human threatens to expose them or put their way of life into danger, they are marked as "Rabbits". They go on the run, but because they have been marked, they live forever, therefore their punishment is eternal. They are hunted by the Rakum, caught, played with, tortured, until the Rakum become bored and set them free to be hunted by more Rakum. It is the ultimate punishment.

Enter Beth Rider: Author of a series of Paranormal Christian books where her vampire characters become Christians. She is marked as a Rabbit because her novels are bringing Rakum to Christ. She's not alone as she finds comrades in the most unexpected places, Rakum who are willing to die for her and her God. Oh and there's Michael Stone, the Rakum who doesn't understand her strong faith but nonetheless is inexplicably drawn to the beautiful Rabbit. It's a battle between good and evil that will leave you gasping in anticipation!

Ellen Maze's book kept me mesmerized. I didn't want to put it down and I can't wait for the sequel.

REVIEW

Okay, I just had to post this wonderful review from Steven of Book Freaks, a guy's guy who is not a romance fan. This is what he said after reading Her Sanctuary:

First my thoughts were, this is feeling like a lovey dovey romance novel and not really my cup of tea but Glisson had such a flow with her words and a style that actually held my interest. Then she totally pulls an all out surprise in the middle and to the end, she takes this story on a turn into an almost thriller/action story. I was highly impressed with Glisson's skills and think she could eventually tackle any genre out there. I also have to say that she can actually write extremely visual action sequences. In a nut shell...I was totally impressed.

4 STARS!!!!!!!!
