Thunder Trivia Contest – Finale!
All good things must come to an end. When we started this, I was all “Oh man, making videos is fun! Why don’t I do this more often?” Then I tried writing around this daily goal, and even taking an hour off to film, edit, and upload every day proved difficult. But hey, we’re ending with a bang. The following video will surely be useful if I ever need to plead insanity. Thanks to everyone who participated. I might not be able to give you all prize packs, but you’re all winners to me!

Thunder Trivia Contest – Day 7
Gosh, today’s video is such a bore. It’s a workday though, and my boss is really strict with me. He’s always following me around, watching what I’m doing. I can’t look in the mirror without seeing him there! Best of luck with today’s question. It’s the last one, so give it your all! You can email me the answer here.

Thunder Trivia Contest – Day 6
Three day weekend! I like to pretend I’ll be taking it easy, but in truth, I’m a workaholic. Then again, with Andreas around, concentrating won’t be so easy.

Thunder Trivia Contest – Day 5
Andreas hates being on camera, so I’m really thrilled he agreed to help select a winner today. Even if you’re not entering this contest, give the video a spin and discover how adorable he is. No wonder I moved across the Atlantic just to marry him. Oh yeah… contest! If you know the answer to today’s question, email me here!

Thunder, Trivia, and Treasure!
Something Like Thunder is here! And so are seven more prizes packs! We’ve already given away one at Joyfully Jay. There are still two up for grabs over at Boy Meets Boy and Sinfully Sexy respectively. That leaves seven more which you can win here! In case you missed the previous post, each prize pack includes:
-Any book from my back catalog (excluding Thunder), in eBook or Paperback format
-A set of Something Like Characters autographed art cards
-A $25 Amazon gift certificate
-A download code for any of my Audible audiobooks
How do you win? Each day I’ll be posting a video asking you a trivia question relating to Something Like Thunder. The answer to the first question can be found in chapter one, the answer to the second question can be found in chapter two, etc. That means you’ll need a copy of Thunder. Links where you can buy it are on the right. If you’re broke, no problem because you can read the first five chapters for free on the product page. I’ll be announcing the winner, drawn randomly, and revealing the next question in each video. I’ll also include the crucial information in the video description in case you are hearing impaired or bandwidth challenged. To enter you’ll need to email me here. The first video can be found below. Best of luck to you all. I hope you enjoy the new book!
Rules:
1. Contest is open worldwide.
2. Only submit your answer via email.. I’ll announce the winner, chosen randomly, in a way that protects your privacy.
3. Please don’t reveal the answer anywhere publicly. That will only decrease your chances of winning, since you’ll be increasing the amount of people who enter.
4. If you live somewhere that doesn’t use dollars, the gift certificate will be given to you in the currency-converted equivalent.
5. If you have a moral objection to Amazon, you can suggest an alternative retailer.
6. If you choose a paperback, please don’t expect it to be autographed by me. My life is made much easier by having the printing press ship the book directly to you. I’ll happily autograph the art cards for you.
7. You can only win once! Enter all you like, but after you’ve won, that’s it. One prize pack per person please.

Anniversary Celebration. It’s prize time!
I’m ten years old! At least, Jay Bell the author is. Kind of. I actually started writing seriously in 2003 when I first moved to Germany. I think. The metadata of my earliest Word document claims I didn’t start until 2004, which might also be true. It’s confusing because there was a book and half, plus some short stories, which I never published and never will. It wasn’t until 2010 that my first official book, The Cat in the Cradle, was released. What I know for sure is that I’ve been writing for around a decade, and my tenth full-length novel is about to be released, so it seemed like an appropriate time to celebrate my 10th anniversary. What’s that mean exactly? Well, it’s good news for you because there are fabulous prizes to be won!
I don’t want this celebration to be about me strutting around like a rooster. I want to give thanks to you guys, and that’s why I’m offering ten special prize packs. Each one contains:
-Any book from my back catalog (excluding Thunder), in eBook or Paperback format
-A set of autographed art cards
-A $25 Amazon gift certificate
-A download code for any of my Audible audiobooks
Interested? If so, there are a number of ways to win. The first three prize packs have been given to a few of my favorite review sites. You’ll have to visit them, find my guest post there, and follow their rules to win. Below is a link to each site, accompanied by the date the giveaway begins.
Joyfully Jay May 13th
Boy Meets Boy Reviews May 19th
Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews May 20th
Even if you’re a millionaire and you don’t need or want my awesome prizes, you should still stop by those sites for exclusive excerpts and such. Or just to find more books to read, because each is an amazing resource. That leaves seven more prize packs. I’ll announce how you can win those here on May 20th. Want a hint? You’ll need to have your copy of Something Like Thunder handy! Preorder links are below. Thanks for making the last ten years some of the happiest of my life. I love you guys!

Something Like Summer in Chinese!
How’s your Chinese? Whatever you answered, I promise you that mine is worse. That’s a shame, considering that Mandarin is the world’s most prominent language. That’s why I’m thrilled and flattered that some very dedicated individuals teamed up to translate Something Like Summer into Chinese! I love the idea of this story and the characters reaching a wider audience, and that by no means should be restricted to the English speaking world. Unfortunately, I don’t have a clue how to break into the Asian publishing scene. If a publisher from there wants to approach me, great. Until then, I’m happy to offer this fan translation for free. You can distribute it too. Share it with friends, families, or strangers. Just don’t sell it. That wouldn’t be cool. You can download it below. Or if you’re handier with Italian, German, or French, please pop over to my foreign editions section. Many options await you there with more on the way! Special thanks to DoraW, flysex, micrian, and tedsaga for working so hard on getting this translation done. You guys rock!
Oh, one more thing. It’s hard for me to judge if the files converted properly, so any feedback you can provide would be highly appreciated. Just be sure to let me know what file format you are reading when reporting any problems.
