Welcome back to the Tuesday Tease! I hope you enjoyed summer right down to the dregs. Now that school has started, it’s finally getting hot here. One year the weather will get it right. But I love fall and all of the happy chaos it ushers in, so I say bring it!Book news! I’m finally piecing together ENTROPY! Yay! Laken will have her resolution soon and I can’t wait to share it with you. Other than that I’m manically editing 3:AM KISSES. (I do luv me some Bryson Edwards). So that’s sort of a labor of love. He rounds out the counter and pulls a carton from the freezer.“Vanilla okay?” His cheek slides up one side. “I’m boring that way.”“Vanilla’s perfect. And you strike me as a lot of things but boring isn’t one of them.”A part of me wants to bring up that kiss we shared—see if he wants another but the aftertaste of desperation is already rising to the back of my throat like bile. Bryson kisses a lot of girls. I guess I was just one of them.Bryson locks his eyes over mine as the grin slides down his face. He’s bearing into me, speaking in some code I can’t quite decipher. A static charge ignites the air between us as a smile tugs on his lips. His lids dip and he’s bedroom eyeing me for a moment before taking a breath and snapping back to reality.
ENTROPY (The Countenance Trilogy 3)*Wesley’s POV
Fletch and I play racquetball then clean up and head back through the gym. Usually it’s just a bunch of guys weight training but I’m a little surprised to find that the entire cheer squad has descended on the free weights. I spot Laken and make a beeline in her direction before Flanders shows up because God knows he can’t leave her alone for one f*cking minute.“Hey.” I tweak her ribs playfully and she spins into me. Her eyes smile before she does, and she wraps her arms around my neck like she’s actually happy to see me.“I am happy to see you.” She bites over her lip, proud to have read my mind so freely.My heart thumps unnaturally because we both know where she’s getting her infusions from.

CELESTRA FOREVER AFTER* Skyla’s point of view (Alone in the Oliver house, in Logan’s bedroom)
A set of footsteps thump in my direction and I stop breathing. My heart flutters a mile a minute as I look around for something to bury deep in Chloe’s skull. Or maybe it’s that pitiful douche that’s taking lessons on wickedness from her? Him I’d like to just plain old bury.The footsteps slow as they grow closer in proximity and that amber bottle I once used to slice Logan’s face open with catches my attention. He kept the neck end of it, and I cradle it in my hand with the shards facing outward. The door opens a few inches and I gasp.Here it is, my moment to carve Chloe like a pumpkin. But it’s not Chloe, and it’s definitely not the douche taking up residency in the Transfer. It’s Logan. He dips his chin with that sexier than hell smile, a hint of sadness in his eyes. “You still trying to break that damn bottle?”

“So”— I swallow hard, never taking my eyes off his—“which Edwards brother is the right one?” The music cuts out and a sharp bite of feedback takes over the speakers, inspiring ten different people in the vicinity to cover their ears. A slow song starts in and resettles the mood in the room.Bryson pinches his lips together, taking me in as if I were dessert, but he doesn’t answer the question.“You want to dance?” He nods over to a small clearing between the tables.“I’ve never seen anyone dance here.” Heat rises to my cheeks, and I take a breath at the prospect of holding his body to mine.“I think maybe it’s time people start.”
ENTROPY (The Countenance Trilogy 3)*Wesley’s POV
The lights dim to a comfortable level as the common room at Austen House is transformed into party central. Laken appears at the top of the stairs and scans the area as her gaze solidifies on someone near the fireplace. I can’t take my eyes off Laken. Her hair shines like burnished gold. Her skin glows a soft peach as if she were illuminated from the inside. She wears a red dress that hugs her curves to perfection, annunciating her cleavage deeper than I’m used to. She gives a little smile, and her eyes laugh at someone near the fire. I don’t need to look to see who it is. I already know it’s Flanders, and my heart breaks witnessing the exchange.


CELESTRA FOREVER AFTER* Skyla’s point of view
Dr. O is busy tending to the barbeque while Emma hen pecks him to death. You’d think there wasn’t another person on the planet who can cook the way she’s harassing him at the grill.I glance across the pool and find Ellis talking to Gage and my stomach pinches tight because those piercing blue eyes have already set their sights on me. His dimples tremble, but he doesn’t break his stare. Ellis goes on and on, but Gage has his arms crossed while he douses me with his full attention. It’s something deeper than simply looking, or staring. Gage is searing me with his intense gaze. My skin blisters under his watchful supervision. A trail of heat lingers over my body as his eyes ride up and down my figure. He bites down over his lower lip as if he’s preparing to savor a meal he’s been waiting forever to have. And he is.“It’s time to eat!” Emma screams it out like a battle cry.“Oh, yes it is,” I whisper, indulging him in a private smile.And Gage is plenty hungry.

“Say it.” Laken slams her fists over my chest. “Tell me that you think we’re not right for each other.” She takes a step back, panting while the look of hurt takes over her features. “Oh my God,” she whispers, her voice hoarse from the verbal assault. “It’s true.” Tears moisten her eyes, and I can’t stand to watch another minute. “For whatever reason you’re pushing me toward Wes, aren’t you?” She shakes her head just barely, never taking her eyes off mine. “You bastard.”

“My parents are gone.” A smile tugs at my lips but I won’t give it. “The pool is heated.” Not that we need it. Paragon's having its muggiest summer on record, not that the sun actually bothered to show. “There’s a yellow lab that’s been missing you something fierce.” I tighten my arms around her waist, and a little cry escapes her throat. “I don’t have my bathing suit.”I dip a kiss just behind her ear. “You won’t need it.”

Mitch gazes at me with those hungry eyes, his body glowing like burnished bronze. “Lee,” my name streams from his lips like a poem. Mitch meets me with his mouth, diving over me with a kiss that tastes like eternity branding itself from his soul to mine. “I’m going to love you,” he whispers, gliding down my body and burying a string of kisses over my stomach, trailing lower until he presses my knees apart.  Mitch peels off his jeans and rises above me like a phoenix. He crashes his lips over mine and kisses me through a lust-driven smile. I open up for him like a flower—Mitch is the sun I’ve craved for so long. He pushes into me with a pronounced thrust, and a small cry escapes me that’s been building for the last five years. Mitch pushes in, deeper still and fills me with all of his carnal affection—a hard-won groan wrenches from his gut.“God, I love you,” he pants hot into my ear. “I love you, too, Mitch.”There’s not another person in the universe who exists right now. It’s just Mitch and me, lost in our love as his body moves in rhythm to mine.But Max hovers over us like a ghost. And, now, nothing will ever be the same.

“Your mother always takes your side—even if you’re wrong.” She folds her arms across her chest good and pissed.“She doesn’t.” And when am I wrong?“Oh”—she shakes her head emphatically—“just watch. I’ll manufacture something so freaking outrageous and she’ll defend you, no matter how bad it makes her look, because that’s what she does.”Skyla pounds her fist over the door. I have a perfectly good key in my pocket but no matter how bad I'd like my mother’s cooking, the last place I want to be is in that house. I wrap my arms around Skyla’s waist and lean into her ear. “Let me give them an excuse, and we can find other things to do.” I run my lips up her neck and bury a kiss just shy of her ear. She rolls her head back and moans into me. “Sounds good, but first we’re going to have one hell of a fight and drag your parents in on it for fun.”The door swings open and mom narrows her eyes on Skyla.Looks like the fun has already begun.

*Wes’s POV (With Coop in the gym)
“You’re not the sharpest tool, Coop.” I land the weights back on the bar and sit up on the bench to get a better look at him. “You think you have it in the bag, that your face and social standing are enough to sway her into your corner, but I have news for you—Laken buried me in her heart a long time ago and I took root. Death couldn’t stop us, the Counts couldn’t hold us down, and you’re sure as hell not going to stand in our way. We’ve already leapfrogged over you and had one hell of a time doing it.”His jaws pops, the muscles in chest twitch.  I give him a hard shove back. “Watching you squirm is almost as good as hearing her tell me she loves me.”

“So”—I lean into the doorframe—“is this where you stash all the girls you bring home for the weekend?” I don’t know why I went there. I guess, deep down, a part of me wants to know just how many girls his mother might find illegal.“I guess so.” Bryson takes in a breath as he settles my bag at my feet. “I’ve never brought a girl home before, so in a way I’m setting a precedence with you.”My heart thumps its way into my throat. My ears pulsate with a rhythm all their own. Bryson Edwards has never brought a girl home before and now that girl is me. “I don’t know what to say,” I whisper as he comes in close, his breath feathering over my cheek. “Say this.” Bryson covers my mouth with his and we indulge in a heated exchange right there in the doorway. His tongue roams over mine, his teeth bite over my lip playfully. I don’t stand a chance this weekend. I’m already his in every single way.

Skyla walks into the bowling alley just as I flip off the over head lights. The interior signage is still on, giving the place a decent glow. I’ve made a habit of leaving it on at night. Just another boneheaded move on my part as I continue to spike that electric bill I’m barely able to pay. Gage and I were just closing up shop.“Hey beautiful.” Gage walks over to her and leans in for a kiss but she shoves her hand in his chest and pushes him away.“I’m not here to see you.” She gives an impish grin in my direction, never taking those sweet baby blues off me.“Hot damn,” I whisper. She’s got on a pair of sky-high heels and her cheer uniform from West. Her hair is wild as if the wind just blew through it and she’s got a look in her eye that if I didn’t know better said she wanted to—“Come here.” She pulls me in hard by the back of the neck and our lips collide in a fit of passion. It’s been so long since I’ve felt her against me like this. So f*cking long since we’ve kissed. Her tongue lashes around my mouth hungry and viral. This is electric. You can see the sparks shooting off around us—the air clogging up with static.“What the hell?” Gage pushes me away from her.“Don’t you touch him.” Skyla pulls me back in by the arm, growling at my dark-haired nephew like he just pulled a knife on the two of us.“You want this?” His eyes light up with rage.“Yes, I want this.” She wraps her arms around my waist and her lips expand into a warm smile all for me. Her eyes lock with mine and I can’t breathe, can’t move. Skyla has me so completely. “I’ve always wanted this—only this—only you Logan Oliver. You’re all I’ve ever dreamed of.” She sinks back into me with a kiss and I can hear angry footsteps stomping their way toward the exit. “Finally.” She twirls her finger through the back of my hair and it feels intense, like the most erotic event in the world. “You don’t know how bad I’ve wanted to have my way with you right here in this bowling alley.” She leans in and runs her tongue from my lips to my ear driving me f*cking out of my mind. “I’m going to let you have me”—she whispers, pressing her lips directly into my ear and a shiver runs up my spine—“against the wall”—she presses in a kiss just below my ear—“the floor”—she sinks her lips lower and takes a playful bite out of my neck—“the door.” Her fingers unbutton my jeans and work down my zipper, quick as a magician. “But first, I want it right here, right now.”Skyla jumps up on my hips and dives over me with her searing lips while we lose ourselves in a kiss that has the ability to blow Paragon right off the damn map if it wanted. I hold her steady, under the knees, as I press her against the counter. My hand glides over her creamy thigh and rides higher until I can feel her cheer skirt flirting with my skin. My fingers round out her soft curves, and I groan right into the kiss. “Damn, Skyla. You’re not wearing any underwear,” I whisper with our teeth bumping over one another softly.She pulls back and takes me in with a fire in her eyes. “I don’t ever want to wear anything around you.”She comes in for another kiss and her forehead knocks against mine so I hard I jolt.I sit up and take a breath as the landscape of my room fills in around me. I give a hard blink, and my bedroom comes in clear, confirming the fact it was just a dream. “Crap.” I fall back on the pillow and kick the sheets down to cool off.It felt real. It felt like more than a dream.Skyla mentioned she had new gifts, and I’m hoping physically assaulting me in my sleep is one of them.I give a dull laugh.Don’t I wish.

A layer of salted air clings to our skin as we get out of the truck.“It’s not this humid back home,” I say without thinking as we walk down a small hill on our way to the beach.Perfect. Remind her you’re leaving in a couple weeks. Shit. “Oh”—she wraps her arm tight around my waist—“it’s not like this all year.” My body goes weak thinking we might be able to count on one hand how many more times we can do this. “Fall is my favorite time of year,” she says. “The colors are outrageous, and the air goes frigid right after Labor Day. It’s amazing the way nature just knows to do that.” She says that last part quiet, drawn out, as we stroll down to the powder white beach. “I like fall, too,” I say it quiet, somber as a eulogy as we wade through the warm sand.A set of boulders sits near the hillside. A few palms offer the area shade so we migrate over. I lay out the blanket, and we toss our stuff down. My wallet has a condom snug inside in the event we decide to get enthusiastic with our bodies. Ally tilts her head seductively and smiles with those strawberry-colored lips. Her eyes lower to slits as she reaches down and pulls off her T-shirt, revealing a barely-there red string bikini. She peels off her shorts, and my dick pulsates just taking in the bandage of a bottom held together with a few measly strings. Suddenly I’m overcome with the urge to unwrap her like a present. I’m enjoying the hell out of the fact her bottoms are equally as pleasantly scant as the top.“Hot damn girl,” I say, pulling her in by the waist.“Your turn.” She plucks my shirt off and runs her hands over my chest in a series of achingly slow circles.“You’re pretty good at that,” I say, picking up her hand and kissing each of her fingertips.“Stripping?” Her eyes widen as if a slap were next on the agenda if I admitted it.“No.” I push out a little laugh. “Taking my clothes off.” I gently pull her in by the face and give a playful bite to her bottom lip. “I’m going to have to keep you around, Ally.” Shit. Did I just go there again? Is there any way to get through this afternoon and not depress the hell out of us by bringing up the not-so distant future? I mean it’s obvious Ally and I have a future, right? What the hell am I saying? Of course we do, a brilliantly long one—paved with happiness and hot sex right through to our golden years and beyond. “Are you going to keep me around?” Her features soften as if she had started it out as a smartass remark, then it became a general interest question that directly affects her wellbeing.“Hell, yes.” My lungs pump out some serious steam as if I ran all the way here from Cruise’s cabin. “You’re all I’ve ever wanted.” I mean every word—serious as death. “And, you’re…”—a smile twitches on her lips—“it!” she screams, slapping me on the chest and taking off toward the waterline.“Hey”—I shout, taking off after her—“that hurt, Ally. You’re going to have to kiss it to make it feel better.”

“You’re either a lover or a fighter.” Wes looks at me with those lawn green eyes and my stomach melts on command. He steps in close and his breath rakes over my cheek.“I’m caving,” I whisper.“Cave.”Shit. This is so not going to end well. Where the hell is Coop?

* Skyla’s point of view (Marshall holds out a salamander that tried to crawl up Skyla’s leg)
“Get that thing away from me.” I hop to the other side of the table.“Now, now—it’s no bigger than a garden snake.”“It’s prehensile and wants to touch me in delicate places.” I shudder at the thought because it so almost did. “It’s officially my enemy.”Marshall leers into me, a dirty smile plays on his lips but he won’t give it.“I’ve something prehensile that wants to touch you in delicate places.”“Yes, well, according to your inter-dimensional jaunts, you already have.”The door slams behind us and I jump at the sight of Gage. He’s got a fire in his eyes, and I can tell he’s about to cure Marshall of ever wanting to touch me in delicate places again.

Welcome back to the Tuesday tease! It feels like a small eternity has gone by since just last week. I want to thank everyone who came out for the book signing at the Pomona Mining Company last Friday, it was a blast! I especially want to thank Julie Prestsater for putting on such a fab event, and the sweet and AWESOME Jodi Murphy for being my lovely assistant that evening. In a strange turn of events I now have a personal assistant, the ultra amazing Tamara Beard! She helped me navigate the minefield of Pintrest boards everywhere and we pinned and gawked at hawt guys to our hearts content. (And if my husband is reading this, we totally just pinned boring stuff all day long.) Anyhoo, check out the board. Book news! Awesomeness occurred last week when I found out you can pre-order Someone Like You, the second book in the Someone to Love series that's being published by Amazon (Skyscape). Here's the pre-order link if you're interested. The book officially releases in January.

I'm on a HUGE writing jag this month, soon to be followed by a HUGE editing jag, so I'll be in the cave mostly. I hear it's summertime out there in the real world, try to stay cool.

Mitch brushes his lips against mine before pulling back, gauging me for my reaction. He offers a sad smile before dipping in and covering my mouth with his. Mitch detonates with achingly slow, unwavering kisses. The universe starts up again. It’s as though it had stalled, and, now, with Mitch here, it was firing on all pistons—nothing but a cataclysmic echo of exploding stars, an entire meteor shower of sorrow and pleasure intertwined—a comet of lust with a tail as wide as the sea.


3 a.m. Kisses (New Adult) (Baya’s Point of View, with Bryson.)
“Okay!” I scream through my laughter. “You win.” I fall back on the boulder and he rolls on top of me, refining his torment technique.“Say uncle.”“Uncle!”“Say, Bryson’s the best.” He slows his movements while I try to catch my breath.“Bryson’s the best.” It gurgles from my throat with a scream. “You’re great, and I’m not.” My hands tracks down low on his waist and he catches me by the wrists.“I think you’re pretty great, Baya,” he whispers just over my ear. Our eyes lock with a magnetic pull. I place my hand over the back of his neck and rise to meet his lips.

*Cooper’s POV
I barrel out of the English building after my close encounter of the Edinger kind and stop shy of the final few steps. There they are. Wes holds Laken right under the statue of Asterion with his hands low at her hips. Just the sight makes me want to kill him, and I wish to God that glorified piece of copper would rouse to life and chomp Wesley’s head off in one clean bite.“I’d pay with my soul to see Wes verses the Minotaur,” I whisper below a breath, and Asterion startles to life. His jaw unhinges wide like a piranha just as Wes leans into her for kiss.Sh*t.

CELESTRA FOREVER AFTER
*Gage’s point of view(Gage talking to Ellis about Skyla at the bowling alley.)
“Tell her to get in”—Ellis points hard at his crotch—“or get the eff out.” He sprays the gear solvent in the air and takes another sniff.“Would you give me that?” I don’t hesitate snatching it from him. “And I’m not giving her some stupid ultimatum. Besides, I’ve already got a game plan.”Harrison loses himself in a minute-long howl. “Effin’ Oliver.” He slaps my back so hard I swear I felt a vertebrae pop. “The man with the plan.”
