Hello! First things first, I'm a really big fan. You write great stuff, and I've been desperately trying to track down your work so I can share the awesome with my friends. XD But, well, I'm doing research for a superhero story, and I wanted a protagonist'

Hoo boy, this is a big topic. I do have some thoughts but I'm about to go out the door. I guess my first request would be to please not do the stereotypical stuff—hairdressers, male and female, are not always the gay best friend or the town gossip brokers.  I'll see if I can think of more soon!

Gail you work with DC Comics and by extension Time/Warner who broadcast Adventure Time cartoon on Cartoon Network, did you see the latest episode and what do you think if you have?

This sucks, but I watch almost no television at all. I have no idea what Adventure Time is. Sorry!

Hi, Gail. I wanted to say that you are the reason I read comics. My brother always read them and when I read your first run of Birds of Prey I as hooked. Characters like Huntress and Black Canary will always be my favorite. Anyways, I would just like to kn

That's lovely, Heidi! Thank you!

I'm really glad. Those two might be my favorites as well. I keep looking at Birds of Prey and Huntress covers with pure green envy that I don't get to write them!

I know, it's petty.  :)

As for Starfire and Catwoman, it's tough, because I haven't read either one yet. DC sent me a huge batch of pdf files but they didn't include all the books, so I've only read about 20. I finally got to a comics store the day before yesterday but they were sold out of both books.

The opinions I have on this stuff are just general, therefore. Like any reader who cares about a character, you don't want to see them degraded without a reason.  I hate hate hate judging works out of context, but in some cases, I'm sorely tempted, sure.

I hope the writers are going somewhere with these characters…they both have a lot of readers who love them and want great stories featuring them.

All I've seen are the same two pages over and over…are Starfire and Catwoman competent and in control in the rest of the books, or do you consider the entire books problematic, may I ask?
