Any news on the existence of Misfit? She's been a big favorite of mine for awhile now and I know she kind of disappeared after 'The Death Of Oracle' arc but is there any hope we might see her in the reboot?
This is a little bit of a sucky answer, but I'm not positive about the timing so I hate to promise anything. They have asked us to focus on new characters for a while. I had hoped to have Scandal or Catman in issue four of Batgirl, but they did ask to use new characters for a while.
However, I am pretty sure Misfit has a place in the new dcu. I can't say exactly when, but we are working on something!

This is a perfect example...

This is a perfect example of what I was talking about with Ed Benes.
I could give this scene to a dozen critical darling artists and few of them could deliver the gut-punch that this scene has, as drawn by Ed. Note the darkening of the panel when Huntress appeals to Dinah, as if the darkness is closing in. Note how he barely varies the shot distance through the entire sequence, to not allow the reader to look away as the three women endure this painful moment. I could go on…but this stuff is why I loved working with Ed.
Sometimes, we got shots that were sexier than they should have been, but his acting and respect for the script was just dead on. This sequence actually made me angry at Barbara for weeks and we'd been building to it for months. Ed made it heartbreaking…what he can do with emotion is sometimes amazing.
Gets me every time.
Hey Gail! I was wondering if you could clear up a question I have about Scandal's mother. In "Depths" she seems to be alive when Scandal gets the lamentation blades, but in the Action Comics crossover, Scandal says her mother killed herself when Scandal
I hate to admit it, but I think it's an error. I'm not sure how it happened, I am very careful with character backstory and had Scandal's history mapped out for ages. I vaguely recall having an explanation for the two different dates but it escapes me at the moment. We need to bring back the no-prize!
Sorry for the confusion.

By Khoi Pham
Oh, my HEART.
Holy moley, that is gorgeous. I need to know who Koi Pham is PRONTO.
What a beautiful & fierce image of Jeannette! There's never enough Jeannette art, so this is most welcome.
I KNOW!
I'm telling you, I have never seen Khoi Pham's art before, I don't think (I live in the boonies and there are huge gaps in my Marvel reading). But I hope I get to be fortunate enough to work with him sometime. That is an AMAZING piece!
Will we ever see you write a female character of colour who happens to be a Muslim but is normal, ordinary and not a terrorist or extremist as tends to be portrayed by the media? I'm enquiring as my young cousins and myself tend to be rather disappointed t
I admit I don't have such a character in the planning stages, but you're right, it needs to happen. I am working with some lovely artists who are Muslim, which could only help. I wish I had a better answer to this very reasonable question. I will certainly give it some thought. Thank you.
