When A Thank You Isn't Enough

I snagged...borrowed...stole :} this from Cindy C Bennett's blog because she said it so well! Thank you bloggers!

When A Thank You Isn't EnoughI've long maintained that without bloggers, we authors would have a mighty hard time selling a single copy of our books. It's by the kindness, grace, and giving of their time for reviews, and sharing blog space with book spotlights, that we're able to spread word of our books.

From Sept. 2 - 13, me and my two co-authors, Sherry Gammon and Jeffery Moore took our new release,  The Experiment  on tour. From all of the USA, to Sweden, to the UK we were able to tour (ah, to really be able to go to those places . . .). Below are all of the kind bloggers who helped us out, with links to their posts so you can read reviews, enter contests, read guest posts one (or sometimes all) of us wrote, or to read interviews given to us by the blogger.

A big virtual hug to the following:

Wendy Knight's Feudlings in Flames!!

I just bought this book last night!! Can't wait to read it.
Ari thought being in love with her prophesied nemesis sucked. But being responsible for her best friend's kidnapping? It sucks worse.

Ari and Shane thought they’d beaten Fate and ended the three-hundred year war plaguing their people. They thought love had won. But they were so, so wrong.
Instead of graduating high school like the normals, they’re in a battle to save Charity – Shane’s cousin, Ari's best friend, and the seer who might hold the key to ending the war for good. To do that, they’re forced to accept help from a boy they aren’t even sure they can trust. He’s powerful and knows spells even Ari’s never heard of, but he’s also secretive and has a past he’s determined to keep hidden . Add to that the fact that he has his sights set on Ari, and Shane would rather do without his help.
Ari has bigger problems than mysterious boys and their strange powers. The powerful Edren Family is hunting her brother, and she can't very well save him or Charity while they’re constantly being attacked by her own people. To stop the raids, she has to take the fight to them. But if she starts hunting the family that raised her, what kind of monster will she be?
Fate still waits for the death of one by the hand of the other.
Excerpt:            "No no, Hunter, it curves this way." Ari stood back, watching with a frown, and then jumped back in. "Imagine in your mind what you want the spell to do. Tie your emotions to your spells."
Shane watched her guide Hunter and tried again on his own. "Close, Shane, but like this," Ari reached out, holding his hand as she led him through the motion. He felt the flames racing through his blood react to her touch and sparks flew from his fingers, igniting the spell. It hung, burning, in the air, a bright blue curlicue thing. "Perfect," she whispered, still holding on to his hand.          Shane paused, dropping his hand that was still poised in the air. "Umm… I was thinking we were gonna die and I had seen you throw that spell so I knew it was possible. It just happened."

Author BioWendy Knight was born and raised in Utah by a wonderful family who spoiled her rotten because she was the baby. Now she spends her time driving her husband crazy with her many eccentricities (no water after five, terror when faced with a live phone call, etcetera, etcetera). She also enjoys chasing her three adorable kids, playing tennis, watching football, reading, and hiking. Camping is also big: her family is slowly working toward a goal of seeing all the National Parks in the U.S. You can usually find her with at least one Pepsi nearby, wearing ridiculously high heels for whatever the occasion may be. And if everything works out just right, she will also be writing.

The Experiment, by Cindy C Bennett, Sherry Gammon and Jeffery Moore

The Experiment , a new novel from the imaginations of Cindy C Bennett, Sherry Gammon, and Jeffery Moore!

Time is running out for the Collaborative's oppressive rule of the remote world Senca One. The government attempts to suppress the escalating riots, even while seeking to further their experiments. When their parents are taken, triplets Juliet, Cilla, and Emiah Tripp set out to locate them, and soon discover they are at the center of a hunt to capture them.

Evading the Collaborative across Senca One’s harsh terrain, they’re confronted with the trials of survival. They also discover something that changes the very core of their reality: they’re morphs. Struggling to adapt to the strange new ability, they question what they really are . . . and why. Are the rumors of experiments done on children true? Did their scientist parents have anything to do with it?
Their quest brings them to the capitol city of Brighton, which is on the verge of revolt. While searching for information about their parents, the Tripps align themselves with the very people fueling the rebellion. They unwittingly spark the revolution they want no part of and discover something more dangerous than they suspected.
Excerpt:
Juliet I worked my way over to the bluff and stood staring out over the moon bathed expanse. It was breathtaking. And it fed my desire to fly again.I spread my arms, lifted up onto my toes, and smiled when a slight tingling feeling tickled my chest. I breathed deeply and concentrated on the feeling, willing it to grow and spread across my skin. The pressure beneath my ribs was something inside me wanting to break free, but I just couldn’t manage to push it to the surface. I was so close. I just needed that tiny element of danger. I jumped. I got maybe six inches off the ground before I was tackled onto my back. The impact popped the air from my lungs and I struggled for my next breath.“Are you out of your freakin’ mind, Juliet? You could have died.” Brax straddled my stomach, pinning my arms to the ground.“Get off me, you anorexic brazzle bear.” I bucked and kicked, finally wrapping my legs around his torso and flipping him onto his back.“Not bad for a girl, Blondie.” He stood and brushed off the jungle’s undergrowth and mud from his clothes. He didn’t bother helping me up.I jumped to my feet and headed back to the bluff. No stupid guy was going to tell Juliet Tripp what to do. Two feet from the edge, his arm snaked about my belly, jerking me to a stop.“Juliet, don’t be so arrogant,” he whispered in my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

THE EXPERIMENT by CINDY C. BENNETT, SHERRY GAMMON AND JEFFERY MOORE is a fact paced, action filled Young Adult/Fantasy/Science Fiction/ Sword & Sorcery.
Filled with plenty of action, romance and mystery. Three masterful and talented authors collaborate to produce a story of imagination, shifters, sci-fi, that is futuristic and fantasy.

Cover Reveal: Arms Wide Open

Usually with a cover reveal I have not had the chance to read the book. This one I have. It is both touching and Hil-ar-i-ous! It is a must read that will have you laughing out loud, and dabbing at a few tears all at the same time. Highly recommend this novel!

Coming Friday, September 6--Arms Wide Open: a novella
Lauren Brooks is in a rut, and her roomie is determined to yank her out of it by convincing her to participate in a local coffee shop's 5-in-5 speed dating event. Once she agrees, it takes her about 30 seconds to realize if there's an oddball out there looking for love, he'll find her. And creep her out. She confronts one weirdo after another until someone she used to know winds up in the same place, and she has to decide what she wants more: to make a break for it, or embrace the possibilities of another chance.

Fun Facts about Arms Wide Open:

Lauren Brooks is based on a real person...a real survivor.
Although the author doesn't name a city as the setting, she imagined it happening in a little shop by the pier in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

The eyeball guy, Rico Suave, and the amorous hipster are all based on actual dates the author suffered through.

Check out Arms Wide Open, a novella about taking a chance on love!

About the author: Juli Caldwell is also the author of Psyched , a YA paranormal novel, and Beyond Perfection , a latter-day romance. She lives near the shores of the Great Salt Lake with her husband, two bookworm daughters, and a dog who sheds too much. She will love you forever if you like her facebook page and follow her on Twitter. Check her blog often for updates on upcoming books, contests, and giveaways from her and other amazing authors!

The Experiment Blog Tour first stop!!

First review on the blog tour is in!  Here is an expert from Get your read on:I really enjoyed this book.  The plot was always forward moving and didn't drag at all.  The characters were all distinct and definable.  They are on a quest to save their parents and along the way they discover more than they ever thought possible.  There is romance, adventure and intrigue all set in a futuristic other world but a world full of oppression and inequality  which are things we all can relate to.  The morphing thing was cool.  I like how it all came down for the triplets and how they all worked together to understand and make the morphing work for them.
One of my favorite things is to get to know authors better.  These three talented authors have put together a top 10 places to visit list for us, so check this out!
Read ExcerptPrologue

The scientists gathered around the dish which held the precious fertilized eggs. It was a glorious day, a day in which they were certain they'd finally gotten it right. After the many failures, the babies born with no arms, or two heads, sometimes with the parts of other creatures who'd been introduced into the mix, after those, this was it. As a unit, they knew that it was their last chance, so they'd taken their time, perfected the splicing of the superior genes with the usual human egg and sperm. If they failed, their entire production facility would be shut down.

The woman who lay on the table did so with utter awareness of what was happening. She was a scientist also, as was her husband. They were not only part of the team, they were key in finding the exact formula needed for success. Unable to have children naturally, they'd been quick to volunteer. They were also aware that whatever children might come of the experiment would be raised here, in the lab. Part of what would seem to be a traditional family unit, but watched, recorded, tested throughout their lives.

The lead scientist, a woman, young for her position, gently lifted the Petri dish and began the method for transferring the genetically altered, fertilized embryos into the woman. She watched with bated breath as they entered the woman's uterus, prayed to a higher being she didn't believe in that at least one would take. She hardly dared hope for a multiple birth, illegal everywhere on Earth but here in this lab. If this worked, she'd be able to not only continue her experiments, using other willing subjects as carriers for the babies. She'd have the notoriety she craved that would justify her early promotion to this position.

The woman who lay on the table squeezed her husband’s hand. The scientist glanced up as a look passed between the couple, a look of some hesitation.

"You haven't changed your minds, have you?" she demanded.

"Of course not," the man said, refusing to meet her gaze. "We want this to succeed as much as you do."

"Good," the scientist answered. "Because there is much riding on this. I would follow you to the ends of the universe to make sure nothing goes wrong."

"That won't be necessary," the husband says, finally meeting her eyes. "We're in this as agreed."

The scientist watched him for long moments. Satisfied, she removed her gloves. With a sharp turn, nearly military in its precision, she left the room. Now, it was just a matter of waiting, to see if the process was a success. May the gods help her if she'd failed.

Author interview questionsWe are here celebrating your newest releases: First Kiss and Stolen Kiss.
How have you liked writing a serial and how's it different from a series? It's been harder than I anticipated, but I love a challenge. The best way to get a grasp on serials is to think about a season of your favorite TV series. Each season has 6-11 episodes that make up the season. Each episode stands on its own, but is also connected to the entire season. So, the name of my new series is Confessions of a 16-Year-Old Virgin Lips and the first episode is called First Kiss. The second episode is called Stolen Kiss. The third episode is called Rebound Kiss and will be out in the next week or two. How long have you been writing books?I started my first book, Watched, that you can pick up for free during this book blitz at your favorite eBook retailer, about six years ago.Once that became a bestseller, I didn't have time to be a great teacher and a great writer, so I quit teaching. Which, was really hard. I loved being a high school teacher, mostly because I got to hang out with awesome teens all day. What do you love to write about? Is there anything more fascinating than teenagers? Seriously, the unpredictable nature of teens makes for great stories. I love the idea of putting sixteen to eighteen year olds get into extraordinary circumstances and seeing what they do.What's the hardest thing about writing? You're probably going to laugh, but I think the hardest thing isgetting names for my characters. How do you plan out your books? When I come up with a new story idea, I usually know the beginning and the end- that's it. I don't outline my stories, I just write what comes to me during a short brainstorming session each day.How do you make your scenes so real?I always go and visit the places that my books are set. Last year I went to Belgium and took copious notes and a million pictures before writing Created. I also visited Washington, DC, Helena, Montana, and Niceville, Florida before writing Watched and Protected. This year I traveled to New York and France for the two books I'm working on right now.I lived in Roseburg, Oregon where Adrenaline Rush is set and I also lived in Tennessee where Gravediggers is set. We traveled to both places last year to make sure the setting was correct for both books. You may think I love to travel, but really, it's Bill, my husband who has a love affair with travel. What do you like to read?I mostly read YA books, but I also love adult mystery and suspense novels.Do you have children?I have two teenage girls. They are so fun to be with. They inspire me. My oldest daughter inspired the serial, Confessions of a 16-Year-Old Virgin LipsMy husband also inspires me by coming up with some of the best ideas. The idea for Gravediggers came from him.I'm waiting for my out-of-control dog to inspire me instead of make me crazy. What's next?I have 2 books coming out in October: Adrenaline Rush and GravediggersAdrenaline Rush is a YA suspense novel with a dash of romance and Gravediggers is a YA mystery novel with a dash of romance.
The covers of those two novels will be revealed soon.
