Meet Caroline Thelemaque

Meet a real life heroine -- Caroline Thelemaque.  I found her personal story so inspirational that I asked her if I could use her in my book Saving the Sheikh.  I hope I did this wonderful woman justice in the scene I wrote her into with Zhang.  More information will be included on my website about Caroline and her projects.

I am so grateful that she allowed me to share how real women are making a difference globally!

Arab Proverbs I found inspirational

Here are some Arab Proverbs I found inspirational while writing Saving the Sheikh:  You need a brother, without one you're like a person rushing to battle without a weapon.
A servant who has two masters, lies to one of them.
The men are the wool of the tribe, but the women are the ones who weave the pattern.
In the desert of life the wise travel by caravan, while the fool prefers to travel alone.
Only a mother can understand the suffering of a son.

Jeff Bezo's new conference

You just never know where my book will show up!  I was so excited to find it in the background of an announcement the founder of Amazon was making!  I couldn't be more thrilled!

Learning from other Indie Authors

Found this interesting article on learning from other  Indie Authors

http://www.booksarecool.com/2012/learn-from-top-indie-authors/

Great advice. I take it one step further, though. I BUY the book from the author, read it, and then contact the author if I enjoyed it. You’d be surprised what kind of wonderful responses you get when you offer sincere support to an author. I’ve made many new friends this way and cross-promote with many of them. No, not everyone answers. However, when you knock gently on many different doors — some open and the hospitality and warmth you find in some of those India authors is amazing. So, study them — yes. But don’t be afraid to reach out and say hello.
