TUESDAY TEASE

Carmine read the letter and his eyes darkened. A fierce scowl covered his face.     He crumpled the page. "What are the means of this?" His voice was deep and steady as he spoke through clenched teeth.     "I…I've been meaning to tell you, Daddy, but I just never got a chance." The words stumbled from her mouth, revealing the lie.           "Have I not given you everything you've ever needed?" He was angry now and did not care much for her excuses. "Were the private lessons not good enough for you? Are you that ungrateful?"      Tears sprang up in her eyes and her lip trembled. Amber had never, in all her life, witnessed Carmine's rage, but she saw it rising in his deep emerald eyes like a sudden thunderstorm ready to strike with its lashes of lightening.        "No, it's not like that. I appreciate all you've ever given me. But I'm eighteen now and I think it's time for me to go out into the world. I need to meet new people…people my age. I want to feel normal."      "Normal?" His mouth twisted into a wicked smile. "Amber, you are in no way normal. You have a gift, one that the world will never understand. Do you really want to take that chance?" His tone was mocking and more tears welled in her eyes.

REVISIONS! REVISIONS! REVISIONS!

Whew, well I have finally finished the revisions for Therian! I can't say it wasn't a daunting task, and I will never take those few extra hours of sleep for granted ever again!! But I had so much fun with the edits and as I re-read the story I couldn't help falling in love with my characters all over again :)))

Amber, Taye, Lynke, Luna, Deacon, Lucard, and all my other imaginary friends!! I love you guys!!

Very excited, and I cannot wait to get the news of the release date :). Over the next few weeks I will be posting excerpts of the book. These will also appear on Therian's facebook page.

All Amberlyn Darksky has ever wanted is to be normal. But what if normal is everything supernatural and legendary?
Amber has never been ordinary. She has a gift, the ability to see memories through simple touch, and for her it's a curse. Especially when she has to relive her mother's death, the night she was born, through her father's eyes. Leading a sheltered life for years under his constant watch has her yearning for freedom and her acceptance into Cyprus Falls University gives her just that.
She is immediately plunged into a world of true love, heart ache, seduction and horror. With a deepening affection for Tayelon Cree, whose sparkling hazel eyes leave her breathless, and the undeniable allure of Lucard Colbaine, who seems to be immune to her gift, can she accept what either of them represent in her life? And what about the steely eyed vampire who invades her dreams?
When the blackouts and nightmares begin, Amber fears the pain that rips into her soul and threatens to destroy her. Before long she is faced with the truth of her destiny, as well as the devastating secrets that surround the people she holds dearest; dark secrets that will truly change the course of her very existence. Amber doesn't know if she has the strength to accept the hand fate has dealt her. She will have to fight as hard as possible to remain human while the beasts inside her rage to take over.

When one human stands before an army of impossible obstacles, the likelihood of overcoming them in this coming-of-age modern fairytale may result in war between light and darkness.
Abandoned as an infant in Prague, naive and strong-willed Charlotte Ruzikova was raised by one of the last Vampires left alive. As a human, she knows no other home than the one nestled deep in the woods of Eastern Europe, where Witches drew spells of enchantment, Phasers threw tea parties, and Elves are the closest in kin. Charlotte has lived her life in the dark with her Guardian, content to having him to herself and reveling in his attention, until she's realizes she wants more...
Resident medical doctor and Vampire, Valek Ruzik fears the day his ward would come of age and blossom into a fine woman, and he is forced to confront his own motives as time is of the essence once his past catches up to him, and their lives become endangered...
As genocide and war threatens their secret society, the dictator in power is ready to wipe out Valek's race, but Charlotte will not allow that to happen. WEEKLY ROUND UP

I've been pretty busy working on the second book in The Bloody Crescent series. I thought I had the entire plot laid out but I've decided to take a totally different route that will leave my readers going 'OMG! I didn't expect that...' :). I hope it will anyway! So it's been quite a bit of work making changes and adjusting scenes but I think it will be well worth it in the end.

I've also just joined Goodreads - http://www.goodreads.com/ - and I've discovered some fantastic books. Although I'm still getting the hang of the site I am happy to say that Therian has been added to three 'to-read' bookshelves! I can only hope that that number soon grows.

In other news, I won a fantastic prize through loot.co.za's Facebook page. I will soon be receiving an omnibus of  "The Morganville Vampires" series.
I can't wait to get reading! So a big shout out to Carlilse and co. for making me a winner.

I have also just pre-ordered 'Carrier of the Mark', debut novel of Leigh Fallon. A brilliant writer who was discovered on Inkpop. Really excited to read this book. I have followed Leigh for a while now and she is such a wonderful person and author who deserves all the success! I've no doubt that her book will make it onto all the No. 1 bestseller lists. Check out her website - http://leighfallon.com/
