Sequel release is set for this Summer!

Okay readers and Fans.

I have been getting plenty of emails and comments asking when will UnEnchanted's Sequel be out, and please please please tell me what the title will be called and.......are you done yet? Well,  I am happy to say that I am on track to release the sequel this summer. I didn't really want to tell anyone what the title will be yet until the cover is finished.

Which I have a wonderful person who is working on the cover photo right now in California. Her name is Laurel Seawell. So when we pick the cover we will announce to the world the title.

But here is a hint. I did post the title of UnEnchanted's Sequel in the back of the paperback book on Amazon.

Yes, I am a little diabolical. So if you can't wait to know what the title is you can buy the paperback. Or wait until this summer.

Book Signings, Reviews & Chocolate!

APPEARANCES AND BOOK SIGNING!
I will be appearing at the Atkinsons Book & Author Fair May 5th in Oregon City, Oregon from 10am-2pm. You can find me and my fellow Indie Authors at the Pacific Northwest YA Authors Booth. Come meet me! I'd love to meet you! I will have both of my books UnEnchanted and The Iron Butterfly available.

A BOOK REVIEW BY LOVESTRUCK LITERARY!
Alexandra of Lovestruck Literary read my newest YA Fantasy, The Iron Butterfly and wrote a wonderful review!  The Iron Butterfly has been my sleeper novel. Coming in really quiet and under the radar of Fantasy but has been doing really well.

Chanda Hahn unravels an elaborate tale of a richly imaginedworld governed by psychic abilities. Her unlikely heroine, Thalia, who hasacquired enviable powers through horrific experiments performed on her, is alikeable heroine, burdened with the knowledge that her salvation from hercaptors may bring about a war that could potentially wipe out the kind, magically gifted Denai who have sheltered her.
Hahn proves her mettle asa fantasy writer, layering the historic events and political concerns of theworld she has created with a twisting romance that will leave you wonderingabout Thalia's past, and which of her suitors keeps the secret that will unlockher future. "The Iron Butterfly" is a gripping, enjoyable, and immersive readthat will have you cheering for Thalia and fearing for her life.

EASTER CANDY INSPIRATION!

Spent a good portion of yesterday writing on UnEnchanted's Sequel. I found the layout of the book cover I would like designed and fell in love with it. Almost to the point of rewriting huge sections of my story to fit my cover, but then I did pull back a bit. I'm so excited that I'm almost blabbed to the whole world the title to the sequel.......but I'm not quite ready to....yet.

I'm about 80% positive on the title, but then like UnEnchanted cover once you do see the cover you will know which fairy tale quests Mina must embark upon. Or will you? Just remember this is my Unfortunate Fairy Tale Series so be prepared to be surprised.

Luckily my husband spent his day off watching the twins and I got quite a few hours in writing. More so than I had in weeks. I came to the conclusion that coffee and lots of Easter candy can really get the juices flowing and my fingers flying. To bad I can't afford to scarf down chocolate all day every day I write. That would equal a very sick Chanda. Truthfully I think there must be some sort of addictive drug in those little balls of foil covered chocolate.

Want it in Paperback?

I am pleased to say that in the next few weeks UnEnchanted and the Iron Butterfly will be available in Print format. YAY! So check back often or follow me on Twitter to find out their official paperback release dates on Amazon.

So I have been working with a fantastic graphic designer who is making the books look incredible. It is a different format process than ebooks and has taken much longer then I originally anticipated.

Also in the works is a new Web site. I'm currently Beta testing it right now, but there will be plenty of hidden components and fun things to entertain you on the site, like inspirational music for my books, interactive clues.

The challenge for you will be if you can find my hidden page on my new website, with a secret backdoor that will take you to my workroom. There you will find hints, clues and my drawing board about my current projects and one other hidden surprise.

I will publish my new web site the same time the books are ready for print.

Creativity Overload

My life these last two weeks have really pulled at me creatively but in a good way. I thrive by pouring out my creativity into books, graphic design, scripts, drama and  children's ministry in general.

I've been part of a children's ministry think tank for our church, Portland Christian Center in Portland Oregon. It been has awesome to dream, envision, throw out impossible scenarios and see if we can achieve it for the preschool and elementary age kids. It is also very exciting to be apart of it and I'm excited that my children will get to see all of the fruition of these designs. It is in its design stages right now, so we can't leak any design plans, but all I can say is that it will be HUGE and when it's finished, everyone should come visit me at Portland Christian Center and check it out. (I will tell you when it's done.)

Yes that is me in the middle of a sentence speaking. I obviously talk with my hands alot.
Also I got just done putting a show together with my husband, Philip Hahn, who is a very talented magician, comedian, ventriloquist and puppeteer. As we say it, I'm the script writer/manager and he is the performer. I'm also his greatest fan and critic. But it was very fun to brainstorm, create and build large scale magic tricks. Well, I just brainstormed and watched him build it. He was the guest performer for the Upwards Basketball Celebration Event. So it is very  fun to watch him get into the performance gigs again.

Check out my talented husband Phil's Hahn's Blog Here

I'm also the drama director for the kids musical. Spend a while on the Nile and we just got done with auditions and casting last week. I'm part of a great team under Shaya Lindseth. It's nice to not be in charge of the whole musical and only a small portion. Gives me time to split my creative energy amongst all of my different projects.
So between Writing, Creating and Designing, I've been a little drained and can't wait for Coffee tomorrow with  Stacey Wallace Benefiel, fellow Oregonian and the author of the Zellie Wells trilogy . It should be fun to just talk, eat food, and drink coffee. Okay, we probably will talk shop about books, but that is fun and not really draining.
Here is the first book in her Trilogy Glimpse.
Check out Stacey Books and site. HERE
So that is whats new in the life of author Chanda Hahn.

Half-way point for Unenchanteds Sequel.

The sequel to UnEnchanted has reached it's halfway point. YAY! Doesn't mean it's close to being ready for release. Because then comes the beta readers, the editing, more editing and yep, even more editing.

But to keep those of you who are waiting patiently or should I say impatiently, it is at the halfway point. But remember, I never know where the Story may lead, and it could continue longer past my intended word count goal and plot points. UH OH!

But I wanted to keep all of my fans updated.

The Iron Butterfly Series is coming......SOON!

My New Epic Fantasy Series "The Iron Butterfly" will be released in the next two weeks ! YAY! The first book in the series is finalized, edited and loaded ready to be released to the digital world. Now to finalize the cover of the series and we will be rockin' and rollin'.

I did snag a very talented graphic designer to do the covers for the Iron Butterfly (ahem.. Steve Hahn) and I should be getting a test cover coming this weekend.  So once they have been finalized and approved, the first book. "The Iron Butterfly" will be released.

But for your enjoyment and to hold you over until it's official epub date, I will release a small sample of chapter 1for you.

THE IRON BUTTERFLY  (Teaser) Chapter 1
When I first awoke in the darkness thatwas my prison cell, I was brave, fearless and I still had enough fight in me toquestion the rules. But after my third beating by Scar Lip, I learned to holdmy tongue while in his presence. After my first taste of torture on themachine, I learned obedience. Down in this hell, silence was more than golden;it was the difference between life and death. And where we were, there was a whole lot of death.
The sound of a distant door slammingsnapped my mind back to the present. Footsteps slowed and our cell dooropened with an ominous creak.  The lightfrom the hall fell across my bruised face making my eyes flinch in pain. Asmall whimper and the rustle of straw drew my attention to the other forgottenoccupant of my cell, a small girl named Cammie. She pathetically tried to scootaway and put as much distance between her and the man about to enter our cell.
My mouth formed the word, NO, as anugly bulldog of a man ducked under the too short door frame. I knew withoutlooking it was Scar Lip. He had a crooked nose, dark unwashed hair and cruelblack eyes that hid beneath a furrowed brow. He smiled in delight at Cammie'sattempt to evade him, which made the scar that transected his top lip stand outin paleness.
The smell that accompanied him was amixture of sweat and rot, which permeated from the layers of dried and crustedblood that coated his blacksmith's apron. He had come to take one of us to Raven.Drips of sweat beaded across myforehead as the footsteps drew closer. It was too soon, I wasn't strong enough foranother session on the machine. I groaned when I saw the smear of blood coatingthe back of my hand, leftover from last night's experiment. I knew that if hechose me again, I wouldn't survive. I tried to raise my head from the coldstone floor as he came closer to stand over my prone form.  But a sudden wave of fear made me vomit what littlewas left in my stomach.
Scar Lip paused over my dry heavingbody and backed away in disgust. When the convulsions stopped, I heard him movetowards Cammie, and the sounds of scuffling as she crawled farther into thedarkness of the cell hoping its shadows would hide her from his gaze.  It was no use; all she did was back herselfinto a corner.
Cammie whimpered, "Please!...don't," and was smacked in the face by Scar Lip.
"No talking! You know the rules," hesneered.
Her lipped quivered and a small amountof blood appeared at the side of her mouth. She tried to wipe at it with theback of her hand, but only smeared it across her chin. She bit her bottom lipbetween her teeth to keep any more sound from coming forth.
"That's better," he growled. "The Ravenhas a new experiment to try and needs another volunteer." Scar Lip grabbedCammie by the arms and dragged her out into the hall; her feet twisting andfighting behind her, trying to slow his efforts. She hadn't lost her fight, butif she survived the week in this pit, she would.
I raised my hand towards them as if bythat one action alone I could protect her and stop what was about to happen. The large cell door shut with a thud, and I waited to hear if the lock turned. It did. I counted the steps as Scar lip dragged Cammie up the stairs throughanother door; mentally tracing the intricate path they would take until theycame to a huge iron door that once opened, would let out a smell of iron, sulfur and death.  I knew from experiencethat a table waited behind that door with cold iron shackles and as well as… Ishivered at the mental picture that formed of the nameless machine they used toexperiment on us.
When the sound of the door at the topof the stairs closed, the pain in my chest exploded because I was holding mybreath.  I cried in relief that I wasn'tgoing to be tortured and experimented on again, that I survived one more day. Idropped my head to the floor and let the grief pour out of my body in loudaching sobs, as I realized in shame that I was happy he chose Cammie.
