January's Releases
This has probably been one of the most hectic months of my life, but I'm still loving it. On 13th January - a year from the day that it was released - I'll be re-releasing 'Here Be Sexist Vampires'. Big thanks to Anna Campbell from 'a.g. Proof and Edit' for working on the book - you were a great help. Anyone needing a professional proofreader, let me recommend this company.
As you can see, HBSV also has a brand new and absolutely amazing book cover. I seriously can't thank Ruby José (twitter@Rubyjosem) enough for the beauitful covers that she did for both this book and the sequel, 'The Bite That Binds'. It's honestly like she reached into my brain and plucked out what was there, which perfectly illustrates just how fab she is at her job.
Ruby, you are one of the most talented people I have ever known, and I truly thank you for all the hard work you did and for taking the time out of your busy life to do these amazing covers for me.
Now...I don't know if Amazon still do this for the Kindle, but in the past whenever a book was re-edited, Amazon gave readers the option of updating the book to the new edition. So, if you have purchased HBSV, you may get contacted by Amazon this month. There's nothing terribly different about the new edition. It is simply that it has been worked on by a professional proofreader, and I have added new paragraphs here and there that I had cut out of the first edition.
Only a couple of weeks now until the second book, 'THE BITE THAT BINDS' is released. It's gone over so fast for me. Here's a brief synopsis:
It’s just over a week until Sam will be Binding with Jared, and the only thing she wants is to spend that time relaxing and preparing for the ceremony. Unfortunately, she seems to be asking too much of fate, because suddenly she’s lumbered with a number of distractions that have the potential to postpone, or even cancel, the Binding. There’s a guarded fiancé to crack, a complicated assignment to deal with, Jared’s ex to alienate, and a bunch of snobbish Master Vampires to win over – or offend, whichever. On the upside, things couldn’t possibly be any worse, could they?
Actually, yes they could. Due to a cruel twist of fate, something strange is happening to Sam –something that is changing her in ways she doesn’t like or understand. With the help of Jared and those closest to her, she has to not only handle the threats to the Binding Ceremony, but find a way to fix what has been done to her – and fast.
Warning: This book contains a stubborn and occasionally homicidal female vampire, a powerful and overprotective male vampire who refuses to lose her, and scenes of a sexual, explicit nature.
Lastly...if you want to read an excerpt of Wicked Cravings, you'll find what is pretty much half of the first chapter on my website: www.suzannewright.co.uk
Take care everyone,
Suzanne

I'm So Frickin Cold
Hope you all had a great Christmas! It was chaos in my house, but still great. Can't believe I have to take my tree down soon, it doesn't seem that long ago that I put it up. My daughter will be devastated as she thinks it's a new really pretty yet overgrown plant.
I got a Kindle paper white for Christmas, so if anyone knows of any good books, let me know. It's not that I'm too lazy to look for myself, I swear, it's simply that I've read so much already. I'm not sure if it's normal to be able to read a full novel in one day, but I tend to do that.
I haven't come up with any good new years resolutions yet. My friend suggested giving up all the chocolate and Skittles that I insist are part of my daily diet. Pfft. Like that will ever happen. Hey I know my weaknesses, I know my limits - I'm not ashamed to admit that I have no self-discipline when it comes to diets and stuff.
I'm struggling like mad to choose a title for my follow-on book to Here Be Sexist Vampires. Really struggling. Suggestions are welcome.
Hope you all have a great New Years Eve. Best wishes for 2013!
Take care,
Suzanne

I Probably Shouldn't Be So Excited...
I finally have the official release date for 'Wicked Cravings'; it is due to be released on the 16th April and is available for pre-order on Amazon in various formats, including paperback. So, yeah, I'm all excited, and if that's a little immature...sod it. As I said in my profile, I'm terribly flawed with no redeeming qualities.
Sorry it's been a while since the last entry. I've been in cave mode again, working on the sequel to HBSV (as yet untitled, I'm torn between two). It's due to be released on 31st January, so I've been working like crazy on it, wanting it to be the best that it can be - plus, I've been kind of submerged in the story, if I'm honest.
My daughter's not accomodating the whole 'submerging' thing and is currently watching Shrek's Thrilling Tales and seems intent on learning the Thriller dance, move for move, insisting that I watch. Bless her. Her older brother - in all his innocence, or maybe he was hoping to scare the shit out of her - allowed her to watch the uncut version of Michael Jackson's Thriller. She bloody loved it. I'd call her strange, but I was the same at her age (three). Oh well.
Take care!

Finally Have Some Release Dates!
Hi, the new edition of 'Feral Sins' will be released on 19th February (available on Kindle and in paperback form - I get to see my baby on paper). It seems like so long away, but the good news is the publishers plan to release 'Wicked Cravings' approximately a month later, so although I don't have the exact date, I'm pretty sure it will be March. When I have the EXACT date, I'll post it here, my website & on Twitter. As soon as the copyeditor is done correcting all my errors, I'll put an excerpt up on here and my website too.
Totally off the subject, does anyone know a way to at least ease a migraine? I'm not one for whining about pain, I always just get on with it, but this migraine is just taking the bloody piss because it won't go and no painkillers are helping. I've got stabbing pains behind my eyes, I feel really nauseous, and everytime I move my head it's like someone wacked me with a hammer. And I've been like this for days. Lying in a dark quiet room isn't an option when I've got two kids (who won't stop arguing - seriously, how hard can it be to just co-exist peacefully for a little while?). I so admire those people who have to cope with chronic migraines that can last for like two weeks because I could never cope that long.
If someone could just give me a tip on how to dull the pain a bit, I'd be unbelievably grateful. My hub swears that sex will help - cheeky fucker.
Take care!

Life is good right now...
'Wicked Cravings' is now in the hands of my editor! Hopefully she'll be fully happy with it, and then we'll move on to the copyediting phase. The new version of 'Feral Sins' (totally the same other than errors have been corrected and the group scene has been replaced by a scene between Taryn and Trey) has had all the typos edited out of it and will soon move on to the production stage. So happy it's all moving along nicely!
I'm now working on the follow-on book to 'Here Be Sexist Vampires' (currently untitled) which is great because I've missed The Hollow. I'm also having 'Here Be Sexist Vampires' proofread by a professional to fix all the typos, and then I'll re-release it - I've wanted to do that for a while, but there has been so much going on that I haven't had the time!
My daughter is officially potty trained and has been for a few weeks now. The secret? Balloons. I told her that everytime she used the potty, she could have a balloon. My house soon ended up full of them. She also now sleeps the entire night in her own bed, no waking up looking for mummy and daddy. Not that I now have a great night's sleep - my son sleepwalks all the time. I tell ya, it's freaky when you wake up in the middle of the night with someone looming over you.
I just want to say thanks to those of you who've tweeted me with some really great comments! Really appreciate it.
Take care everyone!

Finally She's Asleep
Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter, I would do anything in the world for her, but I have to say I cherish these moments when she's asleep, particularly now that I'm potty training her. It is so not fun. I praised my daughter to the high heavens, clapped and made a huge fuss when she pee'd in the potty. Two minutes later I turn my back to answer the phone, have the briefest conversation, and then turn back to see that not only has she pee'd all over the floor, she's dancing in it. Worse, she then slipped and fell in it. So, yeah, the break is nice. I wouldn't mind if she didn't actually know when she needed to use it. She just isn't interested in using it at all because she's bloody stubborn. Anyone else have that problem?
I also finally got my website (www.suzannewright.co.uk) up and running, and also my twitter account (suz_wright) and LinkedIn account. Leaving cave mode for a few days gave me a chance to get it all sorted - in between potty training and getting ready for my son's birthday. Can't believe he's 7 in two days! I feel so old.
The first draft of Dante's story is completely done! Just got to gloss over it. In all honesty, I'm not all that thrilled because I'll miss writing about him and his mate, but I'm looking forward to writing about Nick and Shaya and to starting my follow-on book to HBSV.
I just want to again thank everyone for being so supportive over the delay in the release of 'Wicked Cravings'. Really appreciate all the congratulatory messages on here, on Goodreads and those emailed to me.
Take care!

So...Good News and Bad News
The good – and rather surreal – news is that I’ve recently signed a contract with Montlake Romance Publishing Company. I know, mental isn’t it. They contacted me a few months back about ‘Feral Sins’, wanting to obtain and re-release it along with more books from the Phoenix Pack series. For any of you that don’t know – I hadn’t until they told me – Montlake is actually one of Amazon’s Publishing Houses. To be honest, I hadn't even known Amazon had any publishing houses. Yes, I'm that clueless. Anyway, I’ve been in negotiations with them over the past few months but I hadn’t wanted to mention it before now because I was afraid I’d jinx it. Plus, I really did figure that at some point they’d change their mind or something. But no, they haven’t.
So yes the good news is that soon it will be re-released having been edited professionally and with a few minor changes – one being that the group scene has been replaced with a scene that’s purely between Trey and Taryn as Montlake’s guidelines are that sex may only occur between two characters. Nothing at all about the plot will have changed.
The bad news is that this will delay the release of book two, ‘Wicked Cravings’ which is Dante’s story, because they need to re-release ‘Feral Sins’ before publishing the next one. But what’s good is that it will have been professionally edited. I know that some people find typos really annoying so hopefully this will take care of that.
I just want to thank the attorney David Vandagriff for all his help with analyzing my contract and his endless patience with me as I sought to understand just what all those lengthy wordy sentences meant. I seriously hounded the poor bloke.
Again, sorry about the delay. Hopefully I can get the first chapter of ‘Wicked Cravings’ up on my blog for people to read if they want.
Take care,
Suzanne

I Think I'm the Worst at Blogging
Everyone, I'm really sorry - I do realise that I've been neglecting this blog in a big way. My only excuse is that I've been in 'cave mode' lately. It's what happens when I'm really into writing a book. I submerge myself so fully into it that everything else kind of fades, unless it's my kids as no one on Earth could truly escape them. Then I was abruptly pulled out of 'cave mode' to go shopping and to then begin packing for our upcoming holiday (we're leaving this weekend). I've done my best to keep up with e-mails and any messages from Goodreads while dividing the rest of my time between Dante's book, packing, shushing my children, and dealing with some other stuff which would fill the blog entry so I won't bore you with it, but it's meant that this blog has suffered. So sorry.
Hope you're all okay. Me...Meh. You know, I've come to the conclusion that someone somewhere has a voodoo doll that looks like me and is just taking the piss with it. Every time I'm about to go on holiday, I catch the flu or a chest infection or a stomach bug or something and I'm then ill while I'm there. This year, I have a hematoma in my leg, which is just a fancy word for a bloodcot that's under the skin and surrounded by a huge ugly bruise. Nothing serious, but it's sore, and it's annoying to be walking around with a big freakin lump on my leg. The lump doesn't even have the decency to look like a normal lump. No, it's bumpy like three all joined together. And how did I injure myself? I stood on a table for balance, and my leg went right through it. I wouldn't mind but I weigh 8 stone (I've got a small frame) so it's hardly like I'm much of a strain. Seriously, whoever's out there with the voodoo doll, give me a break please!
To all of you who've been sending me messages and emails with new authors and great books, thank you! I'll now have stuff to read while I'm on holiday. Coming away from Dante's book for two weeks is going to kill me, but doing the 'cave mode' thing on holiday won't be fair to the kids so...
Anyway, time to head back to the cave. Once again, so sorry that I'm so crap at blogging. Take care!

10 Things I Did Today
1) Wrote another chapter of Dante's story and fell in love with him a little bit more. He's a cocky ass but an adorable one.
2) Told my daughter she was such a good girl for eating all her dinner
3) Told my daughter she was such a naughty girl for trying to paint the table and floor with her juice
4) Had the most unrelaxing bath ever because my dog and the dog nextdoor decided to have a barking match. My dog won. Then he managed, once again, to get out of his pen. We still haven't figured out how the clever sod is doing it.
5) Used reverse psychology in an attempt to get my son to tidy his room. It didn't work. I'll try again tomorrow. It probably won't work then either.
6) Watched The Neverending Story for the millionth time with my kids and again found myself wondering what happened to the kid who played Atreyu. I don't think I've ever seen him in anything else. I'm pretty sure he won an award for his performance but then...nothing. Or was there something?
7) Frowned as my daughter re-enacted the part in The Neverending Story where the horse, Artax, died. Now, maybe it was just me, but I found that scene really sad when I was a kid. Sure, on a level I knew it wasn't real but it was still sad to watch. The entire time my daughter re-enacts it, she's smiling. So, either, I was alone in the world as a kid who got upset when Artax died, or my daughter is more demonic than I thought.
8) Laughed my arse off watching Britain's Got Talent. Does anyone know why Carmen Electra is on it? I'm not saying she's not talented. It's just that, as I understood it, her particular talent lies in...well a rather blue area. I'm just not sure how that makes her a judge on what's more or less a family show. Am I just a prude?
9) Re-read my recent chapter in Dante's story while at the same time singing my daughter's odd version of Mary Had A Little Lamb (the lamb followed Mary to work resulting in her losing her job - it's from the film Baby's Day Out apparently). Now that's multi-tasking. Can you tell I love my kids to distraction yet?
10) Read a short story by Jaid Black 'Vanished' and kind of liked it - though, seriously, it's not for everyone as some might be offended by the plot. I wasn't because there's an emotional depth between the characters, but I have an unusually strong stomach according to my sister so...
Hope you all had a great day. Oh, if anyone knows any good books I'd really appreciate someone throwing a few titles my way. Thanks!

Thank you all for your admirable patience!
Many of my readers have asked if I have a blog that can tell them about future releases. Well, I've finally found the time to do it, although it involved peeling my demanding children off me.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who has bought and read my books, especially as it meant taking a chance on a self-published author. I couldn't do any of this without you, so really thank you!
As for upcoming releases...The second book in 'The Phoenix Pack' series is Dante's story which I'm currently working on and plan to release in October - the poor guy is having a terrible time trying to get Greta to accept the female he doesn't yet realise is his true mate. I also plan to give each of the enforcers and Shaya their own story in the future. A popular question has been whether or not the rest of the pack will be included in each book. The answer is, yes they will. Another question has been whether or not I plan to kill off Greta. Well, it's tempting in many ways, but no.
After Dante's story, I'll be working on the follow-on book to 'Here Be Sexist Vampires' which I plan to release in January 2013. The book will, like the first, centre around Sam and Jared. I'm also hoping to write a short story for Evan and each member of the squad finding their own 'mate'. Instead of releasing them all separately, I'm planning to release three short stories at a time in one book. If I was to do a full novel for Evan and each member of the squad, I'd be writing about the Hollow for years and years and years and wouldn't have the time to write other books. That's the current plan anyway, and hopefully it will work out!
Oh and I have one more thank you...It is for still embracing my characters even though they are all full of flaws and issues who still manage to get their happy ever after. Flawed people can have a HEA too, right?
Speak to you all soon!
