The Self-Publishing Survey Results – It’s a Brave New World
[Translate]
Incredibly interesting self publishing survey results. Apparently, going free for a first book is a good idea. (Yay, me!) But to make major money I have to write at least 8 in the series…I’d only planned 6 for Loki and an extra with an elf and a jaded techie.
Sigh! (Well, I might manage an 8th, something interesting happened in Part IV, a new character was born that I didn’t expect). Bwahahahahaha!
Thank you to Eva Pohler who forwarded me the link.
is fates the last i bring the fire book? i really like the series!!!--Baya
Nope, Fates is not the last in the I Bring the Fire series. I plan to have at least two more in the main story line, and maybe a short novella (really short—so short I may give it away). I’d also like to do a romance (or two!) based in the same universe with some other characters and some of the secondary characters.
when will fates be out? from baya
Hi Baya—
I’m shooting hard for late February/Early March for the release of Fates, Part IV of I Bring the Fire. It is with my beta readers right now. It will depend on the amount of rewrites, degree of editing it requires.
So far, people have been pleased with it. I’m hoping rewrites will be more tweaks than heavy duty changes.
Thank you so much for your interest!

Why this episode of Billy and Mandy isn’t all over tumblr I’ll never know
Omg.
i bring the fire, maybe. i love wolves & since thor can be a bit of a jerk (THINK HIM & AMY "THE NORSE GOD OF BLUNDER"), let him be humble by his brothers friends. (yah, im also reading a friends REALLY weird loki story...)
Thor can be a jerk, but he can also be a big cuddly tower of sentimental-goo.
But maybe the adoption of the original Fenrir could be a theme?

Can Thor get attacked by giant wolves?
In which universe? I Bring the Fire? Marvel? If it’s Marvel is the pack led by his nephew?
PLEASE Return my eBook If You Don't Like It...
Amazon has a 7 day return policy on ebooks — they’ll refund your money, even if you’ve read the whole book. Every month I get approximately 2% of my sales returned. And you know what?
I’m fine with that.
I’m an indie author, a virtual unknown, and I really believe giving customers the opportunity to return ebooks increases my credibility and my sales in the long run.
There is a petition going around for Amazon to stop offering returns when a customer has read an entire book — I’m not signing it.
I don’t think it’s necessary, and think it will unfairly punish readers who accidentally scroll to the end of a book they hate.
I’m pretty sure Amazon will pursue people who are genuinely defrauding authors with all guns blazing; they have incentive not to see people return books they’ve read too. I very much doubt suddenly 50% or even 5% of my ebooks will be returned.
