Hoarfrost Sneak Peek
Want to take an early look at Hoarfrost (Whyborne & Griffin No. 6)? Then click on over here and check out the first chapter.
(PS – Newsletter subscribers saw this last week, so consider subscribing if you want to be the first to get a peek at upcoming books!)
Sorcerer Percival Endicott Whyborne and his husband Griffin Flaherty have enjoyed an unprecedented stretch of peace and quiet. Unfortunately, the calm is shattered by the arrival of a package from Griffin’s brother Jack, who has uncovered a strange artifact while digging for gold in Alaska. The discovery of a previously unknown civilization could revive the career of their friend Dr. Christine Putnam—or it might kill them all, if the hints of dark sorcery surrounding the find are true.
With Christine and her fiancé Iskander, Whyborne and Griffin must journey to the farthest reaches of the arctic to stop an ancient evil from claiming the life of Griffin’s brother. But in the rough mining camp of Hoarfrost, secrets fly as thickly as the snow, and Whyborne isn’t the only sorcerer drawn by the rumors of magic. And amidst a wilderness of ice and stone, Griffin must either face his greatest fear—or lose everyone he loves.
To be released April 21, 2015.

New Whyborne & Griffin Art + Posters!
First, feast your eyes on this beautiful image from the insanely talented Catherine Dair:
Click the image to view or download in all its full sized glory.
Isn’t that beautiful? Wouldn’t you love to have that hanging on your wall? Well now you can, along with several other images already available on t-shirts and bags. In order to properly do posters, I’ve had to open a separate Redbubble shop (CafePress offers posters but it kept wanting to add white around the image, alas). You can check it out here, but please note you’ll have to choose the Mature Content option at the bottom to “Visible” in order to view this particular image.

And the lucky murder victim is…
As some of you may remember, I offered to kill off one person who donated to fund a ramp for Christy Duke’s husband John, recently diagnosed with bone cancer. February has come to an end, and the lucky person who will die horribly in the next SPECTR book is:
Ana Oliveira
Congrats, Ana!
And for those of you who would still like to lend a helping hand even though the contest is over, Christy and John could still use a bit of help to cover expenses!

Feast your eyes on this spectacular image from Lyudmila Tsapaeva! How amazing is this? (Answer: pretty darn amazing.) I’ve uploaded it to my Whyborne & Griffin bonus content page as a wallpaper, plus iPhone wallpapers of each character on their own. Grab them and have fun!
If you’d prefer to have W&G&C (together or separately) on a t-shirt, messenger bag, or more, hop on over to my Cafepress Store and take a look.

Murder Me, Jordan!
All right, everyone. I’m sure a lot of you have heard by now, but just in case you haven’t, one of our community needs help. Christy Duke’s husband John has been recently diagnosed with bone cancer and will be undergoing aggressive chemo. The cancer is in his femur, which means it’s prone to breakage. Long story short, they’re in desperate need of adding a ramp so he can get in and out of their house safely.
So here’s my offer: if you donate any amount on their You Caring page by the end of February and mention me in the comments (so I know who is interested), you’ll be entered into a random drawing. The lucky winner will have their fictional counterpart murdered in the next SPECTR book. So if you’ve always dreamed of being immortalized as a victim of demonic forces, here’s your chance.

A Note to My Trans Readers
I wanted to put a quick note here about a possibly triggering situation in Restless Spirits. If you don’t want to know any plots points, look away now!
*
Spoiler Space, just in case
*
Trigger Warning
Okay, I wanted to point out that there is a scene in the book where a trans secondary character is outed against her will. Her story is far more than this, but the incident occurs. It seems like it’s been an extra-shitty few weeks, where every time I look online there is some kind of transphobic douchebaggery going on. The absolute last thing I want to do is to blindside someone with a triggery scene. I want my readers to feel better after reading a book, not harmed. So be forewarned and decide if you’re okay with reading accordingly.
(And because I know someone will ask, no, AFAIK it hasn’t yet been an issue. But it occurred to me today that it could be, so.)
Please take care of yourselves out there. I love you.
