Thought dead, now resurrected, the ever popular “COVER OF THE WEEK” makes its triumphant return to 1979 Semi-Finalist!

Rumors of its demise were much exaggerated!

So yeah, from here forward going to try doing this again, and going to stick to one cover from the “mainstream” (i.e. DC/Marvel) and one cover from the “indies” (i.e. anything NOT DC/Marvel).

Google alert is sometimes good to me, so is twitter! It brought me this past week, two lovely pieces of THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING fan art, both for the Bravermans.

Well, Black Widow had a really rough month, but otherwise these were pretty great, as seems to be the new usual for Marvel. That said, technically more “offensive” covers this month than DC…so they’re going to need to keep an eye on that if they want to stay ahead.

Oh man…I had to update this! So I did this sketch again (and did a much better job – practice, yo!) – but most importantly Adam inked it for me – he’s SUCH A GOOD INKER. If this doesn’t show the power of a great inker I don’t know what does!

He also made some small drawing changes that super helped too. AMAZING. I’m in love with how it looks now and am going to pretend *I* did all by my lonesome!

Honestly? DC really fucking upped its game this month. Though there are some shitty covers (you know, the usual ones) I really didn’t find one offensive cover in the bunch. This is HUGE. It makes doing these (and having them actually be funny) much more difficult, but that’s a small price to pay for no more offensive covers. Again, I am forced to consider moving on from this feature…or changing it up...
