Grog is two-thirds of the way through the first phase of editing, and a cover has been selected. I haven’t given a great deal of though to my next project, as editing takes up my full attention.
But there will be another project.

Grog rough draft is done!
Grog has finished out at 84,000-odd words of rough draft, and the first found of editing has begun.
I first began this project in 2011, and have picked it up several times since, struggling to make the plot work. This is not an uncommon process for me; the Wastrel’s Tale, Zerk, the Zone, and others took extended periods to complete. some novels, such as Scared, the YGAT series, and others have been written from start to finish, about half my works start and stall over and over.
But now Grog is done.

Floating is still selling (slowly), but that is to be expected for a third in a series. IT has only received one review, which stings, but such is life.
Grog has passed novel length, standing at 83,000+ words of rough draft, but the final story arc is refusing to end, and so I must struggle onward. I do not recall a project that has given me so much trouble as this book. But I will persevere.

So Grog is still creeping forward; 75,000 words of rough draft so far. I don’t know why they final plot arcs are proving to be so challenging, but they are. Not insurmountable challenges, but tough going.
Floating only has one review so far; a good one, at least. Sales are decent, considering that the deeper you go into a series, the fewer copies you sell, but I enjoyed writing it so it doesn’t really matter.
I’m still evaluating different marketing efforts in order to get my work to more readers; we’ll see how that goes. I believe my books would be more popular with better marketing.
Anyway, I’m still hitting the keyboard, and another book is on the way.

Tuesday, 12-31-19 Happy New Year to all my readers!
So Floating it out, and sales are slow, but that’s to be expected: the deeper you go into a series, the fewer books you sell.
Plus I suck as marketing. Although I am trying Wattpad now, so maybe that will help.
Meanwhile, I have resumed Grog, and have moved forward to 73,000 words. I’m having trouble with inspiration, which is common after publishing a book, but I am not stopping. I have a lot of sideline projects, and a number of ideas for new books floating around, so what will hit print is anyone’s guess.
But I’m still at it; I really would like to be a better blogger, but I never know what I should write here.

Floating Hunger is published!
49 hours past my hope of a pre-Christmas release, Book 3 of the YGAT series is uploaded to Amazon. It will go live sometime in the next 36 hours, the with paperback in the next few days.
I’ll resume work on Grog, which I hope to finish soon, and then will come the terrible choice of my next project. But those are future issues; today, Floating Hunger is done.

Floating is now in the third and final editing phase. No major issues found, just a lot of typos and auto-spell-corrects. The biggest goof was that I had two chapter 9s! Expect to publish it before the end of the year; had hoped for pre-Christmas, but that is a narrow window at the moment.
Once published, Grog (now 71k words) will be in play again.

Floating is halfway through the second stage of editing, and I have pushed Grog to 70k words, but the final arc is still resisting me.
Its damp and mildly cold here, and my inclination to hibernate is strong, but I press on!

So Floating completed the first of the three-stage editing process, and I’ve found my cover photo. I added an extra thousand words during the first stage and closed up three small plot holes.
Now I’ll start writing on Grog again while my wife does the second stage editing, and maybe I can bring that one home, too.

Rough draft of Floating Hunger is done
83,000 words of rough draft complete. I would have finished it Friday, but I spotted a plot hole and spent the weekend plugging it.
I will start the editing process tomorrow, and hope to have it published before the end of the year.
If anyone is going to re-read the first two books, re-download them as I gave both a re-edit earlier this year. No plot changes, just a lot of typos and sentence structure work.
