She attended college at Drury University in Springfield, MO, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, Writing and Speech Communication, summa cum laude, first honors. Her junior year of college, Jean studied English Literature in London, England at Regents College. She was also the opinions editor of her school paper.
