First Reviews of Saint’s Blood!
When your next book is about to come out, there’s a certain trepidation about how it’s going to be received. It’s not a question of whether the book is any good or not (I have the inimitable Jo Fletcher to decide that for me) but rather whether it will live up to the hopes and expectations of people who have enjoyed the series thus far. It’s hard to describe just how much work went into Saint’s Blood, but suffice it to say, I spent more than three times as much tears, sweat, and, well, blood (though not saintly) on it than the first two in the series.
So, here are the first book blog reviews of Saint’s Blood:
Bibliosanctum
Draumrkopa
Jennifer Melzer
Liz Loves Books
The Book Plank
Accessories Not Included
Fantasy Smorgasbord
Over The Effing Rainbow
Parmenion Books
On Goodreads it’s averaging over 4.5 out of 5 stars and doing similarly well on Amazon.
That sound you’re hearing is me breathing a big sigh of relief.

Goldsboro Books Special Editions
Goldsboro Books in the UK has released a signed and numbered special edition of Saint’s Blood. There are only 250 in total.
Here’s the cool part: Anyone that pre-orders this book is in with the chance to win one of three leather-bound, hand-stitched and handmade collections of writing from The Greatcoats world.
In the hours before his execution, King Paelis wrote down his final thoughts on the threats the country would face after his death. He made one copy each for Falcio, Kest, and Brasti, but the messenger sent to deliver them was killed and the books were lost.
Until now.
SECRETS OF THE GREATCOATS is an exclusive, handcrafted archive of a dying King’s final thoughts on the future of his endangered country. Only three copies exist, only at Goldsboro Books.

March 24th: Fantasy Panel at Blackwell’s High Holborn in London
“Blackwell’s High Holborn are proud to be hosting yet another panel of fantastic fantasy authors. Join us for a discussion with Sebastien de Castell, author of the brilliant Greatcoats series, alongside Den Patrick, author of The Girl on the Liar’s Throne, and Rebecca Levene, author of the Hollow Gods series.”
On Sebastien’s latest book; How do you kill a Saint? Falcio, Kest, and Brasti are about to find out, because someone has figured out a way to do it and they’ve started with a friend. Falcio must find the murderer before the country descends into a theocracy. He has only one clue: a terrifying iron mask which makes the Saints vulnerable by driving them mad. But even if he can find the killer, he’ll still have to face him in battle. And that may be a duel that no swordsman, no matter how skilled, can hope to win.
