#amreading Widely

Locomotion is a novel in verse from the point of view of a boy who lost his parents (they died) and his sister (who was adopted by a different family). Loco makes the most of what he’s got, even if it means keeping his true thoughts and feelings behind a more socially acceptable front. In Swordbird, an evil hawk and his crow minions use slave labor to build a stronghold in the midst of the forest. They pit the cardinals and the blue jays against each other to keep them distracted from this g...

What are you doing?

Elza and I love games almost as much as we love reading middle grade books. You’ll find more of these over on Middle Grade Carousel and posting throughout the day on our Twitter account. Follow us and play along! ~CJ

August Reading

Summer Reading. Ah, I do love dusting off a fresh calendar page. Life got extra busy during the back half of July, so I didn’t manage a BINGO last month. Let’s try again!

Incentive? It’s surprising how much fun I have dropping books onto my reading calendar.

Currently Reading

Always a Challenge. Now that I made it through #BookADayMay, I’m turning my attention to other reading challenges I’ve taken on for the year. The next books in my To Read Pile were chosen because they fit the empty spaces in my A to Z Challenge over on Great Middle Grade Reads (on Goodreads).

I’m also working through a list of 100 middle grade books I want to read in 2021. These titles do double duty because they also fit that list. : )

June Reading

Since I rather enjoy slotting book covers onto a calendar, I asked Elza to set me up with a fresh page for June. There’s no real challenge involved. I just wanted a visual to track my reading for this month. I’ll update it throughout the month.

And of course … it’s time for another round of Summer Reading BINGO! #MGCarousel

ALL the squares!

Rare and Wonderful. I don’t often achieve an all-cover with the monthly BINGO board, but #BookADayMay is the *perfect* excuse to strategize for one.
