Interior | A Peek Inside My Living Room

One thing that a lot of people ask for is a Flat tour. Although I don't feel comfortable exposing every corner and cupboard of my house, what I do love to share is any thought or ideas that I had when setting up my home.
Moving into an empty space can feel a bit daunting, as well as buying furniture for the first time. I never knew what sort of style to go for but what I did know, is that when it came to my living room, I wanted it to feel cosy but have pops of colour.
I am a massive fan of yellow (and mustard yellow) with shades of grey so I knew I wanted something along those lines. I know that you can get really artsy sofas that look beautiful, but I always know full well I won't be cosying up on one as they are more likely to be a lot more sturdy. This sofa however, is my DREAM SOFA. Just trust me when I tell you that it's the comfiest thing i've ever watched television on. I also decided to add some purple into the mix as it broke the colours up a bit more and just found cushions and bits and pieces as I went along.
One thing I did want to point out was the yellow floor lamp, I love this so much and to accompany it I bought a light bulb that wasn't your stereotypical round bulb as I felt this added a little bit more to it. It's amazing what a lightbulb can do!
Anyway, I don't want to do this post in order to tell you where everything is from as some are gifts, some were bought with vouchers from friends and family and others were bought in little shops in the lanes, all I want to do is give you a little living room inspiration if you're looking for any right now. Plus, I think the photos do all the talking in this instance.
It might not be to everyone's cup of tea, but I really love my little cosy corner and I also LOVE seeing what other people have done with their houses too.

Top 5 Tuesday | High End Lipsticks

YSL Rouge Por Couture in 205 - Prune Virgin MAC Lipstick in Show OrchidYSL Rouge Volupte  in 13 - Peach PassionMAC Lipstick in Russian RedSisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in L30 - Mandarine

This week's "Top 5 Tuesday" is high end lipsticks. As you know, I'm a fan of lipstick, a huge fan in fact, and it's the one thing I really have a weakness for makeup-wise. Sometimes, a drugstore/High Street lipstick just doesn't satisfy your lipstick needs, and in that case, you may want to splurge on a fancy schmanzy one every once in a while. I purchased my first high end lipstick when I was 20 on a shopping trip with my friend, and since then I haven't really stopped (THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL)
Above are 5 of the lipsticks I love the most
First up on the left is the YSL Lipstick in "Prune Virgin". Got to admit, I think YSL are up there as my favourite lipstick company. They just tick all the right boxes! Pretty packaging, amazing staying power, super pigmented and I have never been disappointed with any that I have bought. The Prune Virgin is a matte finish which is so beautiful in the autumn/winter or if you are feeling a little more daring on an evening out and gives you a gorgeous vampy look. I own many vampy lipsticks as I started rocking a darker lip last autumn, but this is by far my favourite. The other YSL lipstick is in the middle and this is a Rouge Volupte finish, which is a lot more moisturising and shiny on the lips. The consistency is very creamy and soft and with that you can often lose pigmentation, but OHHH no, not with these bad boys. I own a few of these but this is the colour I reach for the most as it pretty much goes with any makeup look and compliments my skin tone. It's a gorgeous pinky peach shade which is also quite neutral. The packaging on this one is AMAZING. Props to you YSL.
Next up you may spot 2 Mac lipsticks. Mac aren't as expensive as YSL, but I also don't think you get the same luxurious feel. However, they are BRILLIANT. Most girls will have a Mac lipstick as one of their staples in their collection i'm sure. I own a fair amount of Mac Lipsticks (you'll soon see when I do my makeup collection video) but these two are ones I have reached for the most over the years. The first is "Show Orchid" which is a blue toned fuchsia and it so bright and pretty. Amazing for a night out! The other is "Russian Red" which is a matte lipstick in a dark red shade. If i'm not wearing my Rimmel Kate Moss in 107, I'll be wearing this one! Love them both.
Lastly is one from Sisley which is definitely up there in the price bracket, but again SUCH A GUILTY PLEASURE! There is something very rewarding about owning and using these lipsticks. The packaging is so beautiful, and feels weighty and precious and the shape of the lipstick is also very unique (and actually great for application). The colour is also so vibrant and goes on so smoothly you almost can't quite believe it. If you are looking to get someone something a bit more special, want to treat yourself, or need a wedding lipstick, I would totally check these out. Will almost definitely make your purse cry out but your lips will be laughing!

The Marwood Coffee Shop

JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content.
When my friend Gabby was visiting me a few weeks a go, we paid a visit to a cafe tucked away in a backstreet in Brighton in the Lanes next to Cafe Coho called The Marwood. Inside, were star wars figures and spaceships hanging from the ceiling and all sorts of interesting recycled old toys and furniture to make up the entire coffee shop. It's so full of character. We went on a wednesday afternoon whilst out shopping to refuel on drink and cake, and we certainly weren't disappointed. I love all things unique and vintage and a little bit higgeldy piggedly, so for me, this cafe was so lovely to sit in. If these sorts of coffee houses aren't your style then I wouldn't stop by there, however, I feel like it should be experienced regardless.
Cake/Food Rating - 4/5 Freshly made and delicious. I had White Chocolate & Raspberry with Blueberries & it was so yummy I probably could have eaten another slice...or maybe the entire cake.
Wifi - 5/5Easy to log into and find and very good speed. Perfect for afternoons on your laptop whilst eating cake and drinking hot chocolate, or instagramming your slice of cake on your thomas the tank engine plate.
Menu - 3/5Although the menu doesn't have pages and pages of choice, the things on it are all locally sourced where they can be and AMAZING healthy breakfast choices and the specials board. Alongside that you also have the fresh cakes of which when I visited there were about 3 to choose from. Again not the biggest selection, but people may have already beaten me to it as they are so good.
Drinks - 4/5 I had a hot chocolate which was delicious, and as i'm not a fan of coffee I feel that as Marwood is a coffee shop the coffee is probably of a very high standard and it's something they really prize themselves on (They even call themselves the Coffee Ninjas). I did see some people sipping away at their coffee and they looked very pleased with it. There is also a really great variation of hot teas, iced teas and coffees so there will be something for everyone
Atmosphere & Decor - 5/5For me this was the best thing about Marwoods as it was SO DIFFERENT. It was brimming with things that you would find in an attic, a car boot sale or an antiques store. Nothing was the same and everything had so much character. All the chairs were different, even the cutlery and chinaware was all different. There were some questionable paintings on the wall which we only realised half way through our cake but it's a very artsy place so they can get away with it. There were even old school board games that could be played whilst having a quiet drink if you fancied getting away from the internet.
Price - 5/5The pricing here is brilliant. Very good value for money and really very reasonable.
Seats Available - 4/5
It may appear quite small from the outside, but The Marwood is actually very spacious and has larger or smaller tables depending on the size of your cake-and-coffee-friends in tow. There is also a very spacious upstairs which is where we sat, and a very cute garden where you can also sit in nicer weather or in the evenings with fairylights and an alcoholic beverage (yes, that's right, coffee house in the day, bar at night)
If you are planning on visiting, you will find The Marwood at 52 Ship Street buried in the Lanes
I'm definitely going to be visiting again!
If you liked this style of post and want to see more cute places in Brighton let me know, or even if there is a place in particular that you want to visit but you aren't sure, or you'd just like to see what I'd make of it, then let me know. Perhaps it's your favourite place in Brighton?

Top 5 Tuesday | Drugstore Lipsticks

L'oreal L'Extraordinaire by Color Riche in 401 Fuschia Drama - fave.co/1mObSmnRimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick by Kate Moss in in 107 - fave.co/1qo7AjD Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayon in 04 Peach on the Beach - fave.co/1ni2XIJ Topshop Lipstick in Infrared - fave.co/U5uQIK Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstic Kate Moss in 16 - fave.co/1oGPFDD

I really wanted to talk more about some of my current top 5 favourites in different makeup/beauty categories and to start off with I thought i'd do my top 5 drugstore lipsticks.I actually found this to be quite difficult. When it comes to lipsticks I definitely own more higher end brands than those from Boots or Superdrug. Why that is, i'm not sure. I guess I love the luxurious-ness of higher end lipstick packaging and it's always been my little guilty pleasure that I would save my money on. Lipstick is something I know I own way too much of. I have an entire drawer dedicated to Lipsticks.

As you can see, I have included 3 standard lipstick types, one liquid lipstick and one colour boost lip crayon. I didn't know if lip crayons should have their own category on Tuesdays or if I should include it in this post, but I figured it was one of my favourites so I popped it in here.

The liquid lipstick is a L'oreal in a beautiful fuchsia, I love these as a little alternative to an ordinary lipstick as I find they are a lot more long lasting. I also love the colour of this, although they are a little more tricky to apply, definitely not on-the-go application.

Next up are the Kate Moss for Rimmel lipsticks, by far my favourite drugstore lipstick on the shelves. I have shown one in red and one in pink as the colour range is pretty big nowadays and these two are my top picks. The red one you will have seen multiple times for over a year now on both my blog, instagram and youtube videos as i wear it ALL THE TIME. It's my staple red. I love the longevity, the consistency and the colour payoff is amazing! If you don't have a huge budget to be buying really vibrant colours and you want good quality without the high end price tag, check these out!

Next is the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon. Although the colour isn't as dramatic as a lipstick and it's in a more shiny formula, it's still very pretty and as it's more of a balmy consistency, it leaves the lips looking really fresh and hydrated. The lasting power of this one is not as long, but it's by far the easiest to apply on the go.

Finally I have my all time favourite lipstick. My go-to for days where my face needs brightening and something that instantly lifts my mood. It's infrared from Topshop. Again Topshops lipsticks are one of my favourite picks. Not as many colour variations but still amazing! :)

What drugstore lipsticks are your favourites? Am I missing out on any good ones?

Little Ways To Change Your Life

Yesterday I posted a video about little things you can do to change your life!A lot of people have said that it was one of their favourite videos they've seen on my channel which I felt so happy about!
I basically talk about little things that you can do to improve your lifestyle but in a very subtle way (in order to stick to it a little easier). I feel like as someone who has very sensitive skin and suffers with anxiety, doing the things in this video will really help to benefit me.
I hope that some of you gain a little inspiration from this also!
Let me know what things you do (big or small) to help improve your way of living and to ensure you are feeling your best!

Pippin & Percy

I don't think i've properly introduced two of my favourite boys to you here on my blog. Pippin and Percy. They came into my life in January of this year as teeny little balls of fluff that have now grown into bigger balls of fluff. SO FLUFFY. I have always loved guinea pigs since I was a little girl. There's something about them that I have always been attached to. I always felt that anything smaller than a guinea pig was a bit skittish, and i'd be scared i'd lose it or hold it, and I once had a bad experience with a rabbit as it scratched my arms until they were both red raw when I was trying to cuddle it. Guinea pigs have a cute temperament. They will sit on your lap, they'll run about an play and they'll fall asleep on you and squeak at you for food. They are really friendly and find that their characteristics are so hilarious. Having had them for 7 months I can now distinguish the differences between the two personalities which I love.
Pippin is the one with the brown ear and long hair at the back. He is a little more laid back, like the older brother of the two. He is very clever and can usually suss out when I want to take him out the cage and hide in that one spot where it's the hardest to get him. He knows the noise of my footsteps in the morning and squeaks for food and waits by the gate. He is also a little softy and is the least likely to nip anyones finger if it was put into his mouth. He mostly licks. I think it's because he knows it's not food, he's a clever one.
Percy is like the naughty younger brother who is more adventurous. He has the loudest squeak, and is much more of a fidget. Although he much prefers cuddle time and will curl up and sleep on me, whereas Pippin will just sit and watch the world go by. He is the first one to run up the stairs when I fill the food bowl and gets the most excited for everything, although he will also nip you if you poke your finger near his mouth as he will think it's food. He also got stuck behind a dishwasher at one point so he isn't the smartest crayon in the box, but I love him.
I love having them scattering around in their hutch and listening to them squeaking away every day. They are so cute and I love them both so much.
If you ever want to see more of them, let me know in the comments and i'll do more blogposts
