Clairvoyance: Clear-Seeing with Tantra

An Innate Psychic Power

Clairvoyance begins as an innate, natural Psychic Power that can؏and should be—developed into a true and reliable Psychic Skill.

There is a difference between any innate power and the developed skill. We are all born with many natural physical, mental, and psychic attributes that not only differ among us but also in how those differences arise and in how they may be developed and enhanced. Some of us are born with the right DNA and genetic programming to become physically strong while others may remain “90-pound weaklings” unless we train and develop those weak muscles into strong ones.

Still, even with lots of training and development work, that former 90-pound weakling may never be the equal of a famed muscle man like actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. But every effort at self-improvement counts! In a later incarnation, the body may have a “head start” similar to that beach muscle man that was the envy of the 90-pound weakling. Or, that weaker man may not give a hoot about being physically strong when he far outclasses muscle man in mental and psychic attributes.

The Next Step in Human Evolution

Clairvoyance is a natural power rarely developed beyond the “90-pound weakling” stage. A few are born with strong clairvoyant ability, but even their powers can become stronger and more reliable through intentional training and developmental programs. For all of us, such self-development leads to a NEXT STEP in Human Evolution. We all have the potential to become more than we are and an obligation to become all that we can be.

We are here to Become more than we are!

The “Next Step” begins and continues with many small steps, among which are the simple realization that we are not finished products. Our present human development, in all its variations across billions of individuals, is the result of not thousands but millions and even billions of years of tiny progressions from a far distant beginning towards an ideal goal. That Biblical reference to “created in His image” is a metaphor for a developmental program that culminates in the realization of Divine Immanence, or as Anodea Judith phrases it in her The Global Heart Awakens, “we are gods and goddesses in the making.”

Human Evolution has nothing to do with Creationism or Intelligent Design! If we were the result of such instant Divine Intervention as portrayed in the story of Adam and Eve, we would have no need for all the complexities and apparent imperfections of Body, Mind, and Soul omnipresent throughout human history and in the present day birth defect, disease, aging, abuse and crime, conflict and suffering, stultifying unintelligent name-calling and insult-exchanging debates among the stupid ravings of Priests, Ministers, and Politicians. Such is the reality of Biblical Myth when treated as historic fact.

“In the Beginning was the Word”

Myth is the “pre-scientific” attempt to explain the world as observed by people in a given locality at a given “pre-historic” time. The story told in myth is not incorrect, but it is imagination at work and is poetic in expression. In our age, we don’t explain things in symbol and metaphor, so we need to translate mythic expression into the most comparable language. To my thinking “the Word” spoken in Genesis becomes “Program” in today’s world of technology and computer software systems. A program is a long sequence of steps, many of which—as in financial and scientific algorithms—are themselves a series of alternative actions of “if this, than that” or “if not, then try again.”

Simply speaking, such a concept changes the meaning of so-called “Intelligent Design” and gives new meaning to the singular Creation of the “Big Bang.” In the Big Bang we the near instant creation of the multi-dimensional “Outer World” of the Cosmos that continues to expand through “Cosmic Inflation.” “Intelligent Design” is the program that guides and gives meaning to “Darwinian” evolution’s “survival of the fittest” as it applies to the Inner World—not just of the psyche but of all “Life” in form and consciousness within the Cosmos.

Incidentally, the word “universe” applies only to the “material” inter-changing Energy← →Matter dimension of the Cosmos, and not including the subtle “higher” dimensions known as astral, mental, causal, and spiritual within which life as consciousness evolves.

Within the Universe, instead of instant creation of all there is, we have a series of tiny steps in the evolutionary chain of trial and error, and for the few survivors to again step through trial and error with the few success to again attempt to survive and adapt in an ever-changing and challenging planetary environment far unlike any mythic Garden of Eden. Each small step forward from the beginning hostile environment of boiling and chemical-laden seas to the first living cells was a slow building on past successes and progressing to further survival of the fittest adapting to successively form compounds, cells, forms and structures. Each one a small step forward among many failures.

Over billions of years, the human person of today is the result of all those tiny steps, and each adaptation has left a memory imprint in not only our physical DNA but in every aspect of our non-physical astral, mental, causal, and comprehensive spiritual being. The composite being that each of is reflects the struggle of the past as the background to the actions and decisions of the present life.

To Gain Clear Seeing

When Dr. Joe Slate and I began our work on Clairvoyance for Psychic Empowerment, I puzzled over the standard definition of Clairvoyance as “clear seeing.” Not far seeing or future seeing (which, along with aura seeing are the most popular “apps” of Clairvoyance), but CLARITY of seeing. Thinking about what I’d read about famous clairvoyants over nearly 70 years of esoteric and paranormal studies (and personal practice) I recalled the nearly universal reference to the necessity for “purity” in Theosophical and Eastern literature. What the teachers and gurus most commonly insisted was that such required purity demands a vegetarian (actually, vegan) diet and total sexual abstinence, hence the focus on “above the belt” as one traveling lecturer admonished. I had to explore “why” and the “alternatives.”

With further thought and meditation, and conversations with Dr. Jonn Mumford (see reading list at end of chapter) I concluded that five basic elements of our present life structure contain “the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” of our cumulative past that shapes and clouds our clairvoyant vision, and that a careful program of meditation and visualization on the Compounded Tattvic symbols would “purify” the energetic influences affecting the subtle body and energy system (chakras). It is this intentional clarification, rather than any “morally” tainted self-denials, that brings about the CLARITY needed for clear seeing clairvoyance that can be relied on to give true visions of the aura, of distant actions, of future events, and thus enabling a person to act intelligently with honest insights.

A Complete Program of Psychic Clarification based on ancient Tantric Science

A half-century ago, a little recognized American occultist named Ophiel told me that the greatest contribution from the eastern world to western esotericism was the Hindu Tantric practices involving the “Tattvas.” Later I learned that the tattvas had been incorporated into the magical practices of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn in the late 1800s. And then, in 1971, a brilliant Australian teacher and Tantric initiate, Dr. Jonn Mumford, taught me how to activate the tattvas in my own mind. And why!

What are these Tattvas? They are the five fundamental elements that are the Energy Patterns behind the manifestation of the entire physical Universe and the non-physical Cosmos. They are present—beneath your conscious awareness—in body and mind and throughout the Cosmos. In essence, we live in two worlds simultaneously—the outer world and a true inner world of personal consciousness functioning as a “matrix” interfacing with your world of body, mind, and spirit. These two worlds commonly get “out of sync” with one another at fundamental energy levels. This disharmony can start us on paths to ill-health, destructive habits, irrational decisions, and even social and civil conflict. But when we consciously awaken the “Tattva Connection” through meditation and visualization practices, we restore natural harmony between the inner and outer worlds, and open the way to accelerating psychic, mental, and spiritual development.

It is through the meditation & visualization program included in Clairvoyance for Psychic Empowerment that your clairvoyance will become clear and accurate at the astral and mental levels through the awakened “Tattva Connection” resulting in purification and harmonization between the inner and outer matrices. The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn taught that tattva meditation is the fastest method of developing and enhancing clairvoyance.

A Complete and Comprehensive text that is near encyclopedic in depth while remaining a fascinating and inspirational journey in psychic development and spiritual growth.  That was the goal of our year-long project, and we believe that we were have successfully accomplished the mission.

Join Bigfoot Authors Tom Burnette & Rob Riggs for a Bigfoot Conference/Campout!

Readers, please enjoy this guest blog post by Tom Burnette & Rob Riggs, authors of Bigfoot.

Bigfoot Authors Tom Burnette & Rob RiggsOn June 6,7, and 8, we (Tom Burnette and Rob Riggs, co-authors of Bigfoot: Exploring the Myth & Discovering the Truth—currently the number one best-selling Bigfoot book on Amazon.com), will host our first annual Bigfoot conference, campout, and drumming circle in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina at Curtis Creek campground in the half-million acre Pisgah National Forest. There have been numerous sightings on the steep mountain slopes of that region since the days of the old Cherokee Nation.

Native people throughout North America have historically claimed the Sasquatch are drawn to the outskirts of their bonfires and dance ceremonies, so our goal will be to likewise attract the interaction of the Bigfoot. We will send out much love, good intentions, and positive energy to our possible related ancestors, so please bring your drum and an optimistic attitude. No guns allowed, of course. Take Highway 70 five miles east out of Old Fort, turn up Curtis Creek Road, and follow the signs.

We will speak at the conference and participants will be invited to share their stories. The event is free and open to the public, but there is a $5.00 per night camping charge. You can set up a tent or RV, but there are no electric services available. There are coin-operated showers and bathroom facilities, so bring lots of quarters if you intend to bathe. Hopefully, the beasts will also bathe for the event and we won’t have to deal with their nasty sulfurous odor.

Donations will be accepted for the benefit of our ongoing research, which includes plans for more such events in the near future in wild places in different parts of the country, based in large part on the suggestions of our readers. For more information email us on our website at www.bigfootthebigpicture.net.

Our thanks to Tom and Rob for their guest post! Visit Rob Riggs’s author page and Tom Burnette’s author page for more information, including information about their book.

Reptilians ‘R Us

Readers, please enjoy this guest blog post by Donald Tyson, author of a vast number of books, including The Serpent of Wisdom, The Demonology of King James I, and Necronomicon.

Donald Tyson Most of you have probably seen video clips of famous people whose eyes seem to change for a moment into snake-like eyes with vertical slits instead of round pupils. YouTube has no shortage of them. Fans of David Icke claim they are evidence that the world is ruled by alien shape-shifters that Icke calls reptilians. Most of the time, the theory goes, these aliens look exactly like us, but now and then they let their guard down, and their reptilian eyes pop into view.

Icke gets the most credit for this theory, but he is scarcely its originator. In 1929 the creator of Conan the Barbarian, Robert E. Howard, wrote a story titled “The Shadow Kingdom” in which he described a secret, alien race living among the nobility of the kingdom of Valusia, who had controlled the fate of mankind behind the scenes for thousands of years without being recognized, because they could adopt the appearance of humans. If you saw the first Conan movie, released in 1982, you caught a hint of this plot device when the evil wizard Thulsa Doom transformed himself into a giant snake and slithered away.

The concept of a race of reptilian aliens living among us was also used to advantage in the 1983 two-part television mini series V. No one can forget watching the jaws of these aliens disguised as humans unhinge and expand grotesquely to accept live mice as their preferred food. In John Carpenter’s movie They Live, mankind is ruled by an alien race that can take on the appearance of human beings, and control the fate of humans through a kind of induced hypnotic trance that is broadcast electronically. They are not reptilian in appearance, but in other respects they resemble Icke’s reptilian overlords.

What is the reason for the perennial popularity of this myth? It may in part be due to the reality of our social hierarchy. Every culture is ruled by a very small upper class, which usually has the power of life and death over average citizens. They make the laws, control the money system and major industry, collect the taxes, and set the social narrative. This ruling class is, at the top of the pyramid, no more than a few dozen extended family bloodlines, and there is a strong tendency for these families to breed among themselves (they are sometimes called “bluebloods” for this reason).

Many generations of separation and interbreeding among the ruling class of a society cause differentiation between the rulers and the common people. The rulers don’t quite look the same. They speak differently, even with a different accent. They have a different code of behavior. They are, in a sense, an alien race living among the common people.

Such ruling classes tend to be more ruthless than commoners. They are willing to terminate the employment of thousands of workers to improve the bottom line of a company, or to start a war that will cause the deaths of thousands of human beings merely for purposes of political advantage. In this sense they truly are an alien race among us.

Bring Positivity into Your Life with Attraction

Readers, please enjoy this guest blog post by Margaret Ann Lembo, author of Chakra Awakening and The Essential Guide to Crystals, Minerals, and Stones.

“You are love. Your true essence is love. Be aware that you are love in all you do, say, think, feel, smell, taste or know, and you will be happy and healthy all the days of your life.” -Chakra Awakening

Margaret Ann Lembo

When life is challenging it is often because we have lost sight of the focus on love and well-being. We forget to think those thoughts that attract all that we desire.

Remember, everything is energy. All energy vibrates on waves—like sound waves—circling out and returning to the source. Our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and words are broadcasting and creating future reality. It behooves us to be very mindful of what thoughts and feels we are emanating, because it’ll be returning back around to us very soon!

Through the use of tools like meditation and contemplation you can become conscious of what thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are predominant in your life. Often many of our thoughts are unconscious and repetitive. Whatever we focus on creates reality, so if you are constantly having negative or worrisome thoughts then you’ll just bring it on. The key is to focus on what you do want, not what you don’t want.

Be mindful. Simply put, being mindful means paying attention to what types of thoughts, feelings, and belief systems you maintain in your consciousness.

If you want more kind, caring and supportive friends and family, then think thoughts like: I attract love, joy, and happiness into my life. I am grateful for my support system.

But what if you don’t feel supported? I invite you to practice thinking this thought, and have gratitude for anyone who is supportive. Use gratitude as a tool to maintain positive thinking and to attract love by contemplating people, places, or situations that exhibit loving kindness. It might be a cashier, a dog, the mechanic, or a very dear longtime friend. Focus on what is working in your life and you will soon attract more of the same.

Use color, gemstones, and aromatherapy to help refocus your awareness on what you do want. Choose your clothing, gemstone jewelry, and cologne or essential oils to amplify your intentions for the day. Dressing with consciousness is easy to do and fun as well.

Use the color, energy, and feel of your choices to complement the positive thoughts you have established regarding your goals and desires. Replace negative thoughts or fears connected with the goal with the positive statements that the affirmation provides. Repeat the affirmation again and again, and soon you’ll find that any negative thoughts and fears disintegrate. Where love and goodness reside there is no room for anything but love and goodness.

For example, choose a blue shirt, a citrine bracelet, and add lemon essential oil or a citrus fragrance to amplify courage and the right words to flow through you.

Match your choices to this affirmation: It is easy for me to express myself. I am understood, and I truly hear what others are communicating.

Communication Affirmation

Timing Techniques

Many people find determining timing with tarot to be challenging. One reason is that the future isn’t set in stone, so timing remains fluid. Any number of actions, decisions, or situations can occur that could affect the timing of, well, anything. And it’s possible that something won’t happen…so trying to determine when it will happen would be frustrating, to say the least.

However, just like the weather can be forecast based on existing circumstances and probabilities, our futures can be, to some extent, forecasted. What follows are a few techniques that you can try. See which ones work for you, or use these as inspiration to develop your own technique. You will notice that not all these techniques assign the same meanings to the suits. If you research a bit, you will see there are many different methods of association. In the end, the most important thing is to find what makes sense to you and works for you. Also, you can use any of these techniques as a base or foundation and tweak it to suit your own associations, beliefs, and practices.

Narrative Approach

This approach is best suited for those who do not wish to use numeric or deterministic approaches. It does not predict a specific timeframe; instead it suggests what must happen before the event will occur. The querent asks the question and then you draw one card for the answer. So, let’s say your consultant asks, “when will I find true love?” and the card draw is the 8 of Cups. The answer would be “you will find true love when you realize what you really want and seek it out.” Or, if the card drawn is The Chariot, the answer may be “you will find true love on a trip.”

Active and Passive Cards

Another way to determine the timing of an issue to do a three-card reading as you normally would, but first survey the cards in the reading to get a sense of how quickly the issue will be resolved. Wands and Swords are considered active cards. Cups and Pentacles are considered passive cards. Look at the reading and count the number of active cards. Three active cards suggest that the resolution is occurring now or in a matter of days. Two active cards means a period of weeks. One active card means it could take months. If there are no active cards, this situation could take years to resolve.

Numerical and Suit Assignations

The following techniques are really variations on the same idea. This idea is that in your reading you are including one card as a timing card. Whatever card that falls in that position is read as the answer to “when.” The following techniques are some different options for interpreting the timing card.

Minor Arcana Weeks

This system assigns each week of the year to a Minor Arcana card. Each suit governs a season (approximate starting dates based on the northern hemisphere): Cups = spring (March 20), Wands = summer (June 20), Swords = fall (September 21), Pentacles = winter (begins December 21). The Ace of each suit represents the first week, the 2 represents the second week, etc. So, the 5 of Swords would mean the fifth week of fall, or about the third week in October. The Pages are the eleventh week; the Knights, the twelfth; and the Queens, the thirteenth. The Kings are the transitional week in between seasons.

Suit, Court, and Major Timing

In this system, Swords = days, Wands = weeks, Cups = months, and Pentacles = years. The number on the card (Ace – 10) indicates the number of the measure of time specified. So, the 4 of Pentacles means for four years and the 3 of Swords means three days. Court cards indicate that the resolution is dependent on the actions of another. Major Arcanas mean that no timeframe is specified but instead the issue indicated by the card must first be resolved. Reversals should be noted, as with this system they represent obstacles that must be overcome before the event can occur.

Golden Dawn Techniques

The Golden Dawn had its own associations that are used by many tarot readers. The season are assigned to the Aces: Wands = summer, Cups = autumn, Swords = spring, and Pentacles = winter. The suits are associated with various times of the month: Pentacles = New Moon, Swords = waxing moon, Wands = Full Moon, and Cups = waning moon. The suits are connected to various times of the day: Pentacles = midnight to sunrise, Swords = sunrise to noon, Wands = noon to twilight, Cups = twilight to midnight.

Major Arcana Timing

There are lots of ways to read the Majors as time based on the image or card meaning. For example, The Sun can mean the event in question will happen within the solar year, or it could mean in the summer. The Moon can mean within the month, or it can mean in the winter. The Tower can mean soon, as soon as a few days. Judgement can mean now. The Star can mean a long time from now, about a year. The Wheel of Fortune can mean the answer is unpredictable because of the influence of random factors.

Major Arcana Timing, part II

Here is a more traditional way to read the Major Arcana as timing, based on their planetary and astrological assignations.

The Fool—Uranus/Aquarius (Jan. 21-Feb. 20)

The Magician—Mercury/Gemini and Virgo (May 21 – June 20 and Aug. 21-Sept. 20)

The Hierophant—Taurus (April 21-May 20)

The Lovers—Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

The Chariot—Cancer (June 21 – July20)

Strength—Leo (July 21 – Aug. 20)

The Hermit—Virgo (Aug. 21 – Sept 20)

The Wheel of Fortune—Sagittarius (Nov. 21-Dec. 20)

You Can Solve Your Own Paranormal Issues

Readers, please enjoy this guest blog post by Debi Chestnut, author of Is Your House Haunted? and the new How to Clear Your Home of Ghosts and Spirits.

As a paranormal investigator, it’s my job to help people with their ghost problems. What a lot of people don’t realize is that they can often handle their paranormal issues by themselves.

In my new book, How to Clear Your Home of Ghosts and Spirits, I’ve taken my thirty-plus years of experience dealing with paranormal entities and put it into a “how to” guide for homeowners or business owners who are dealing with an unwanted ghost or spirit.

I believe one of the most important pieces of information this book contains is that fear is the enemy when dealing with paranormal entities; you must be calm and proactive in reclaiming what is rightfully yours—namely, your home or business.

I know, easier said than done—and I understand that. However, you have to look at whether you’re being harmed or are simply just scared. (If you or someone in your family is being harmed by a paranormal entity, then you should seek the advice of a qualified paranormal investigator immediately.) However, if you’re just being scared or startled by a ghost or spirit and no one is being physically harmed, then you may be able to deal with the entity yourself. The easiest method for getting rid of a ghost is to simply talk to it and explain that it needs to leave and go into the light. You’d be surprised how many times this method works!

Don’t forget to pick up a copy of How to Clear Your Home of Ghosts and Spirits to find out more about this method and other ways you can safely deal with an unwanted spectral house guest!

Happy Hauntings!

Power to the People and Personal Empowerment for YOU!

POWER TO THE PEOPLE has been a revolutionary call heard many times in history, and even now it remains a revolutionary challenge with new political implications and—even more—for Personal Empowerment by means of New Technologies for Personal Growth, New Opportunities for Personal Development and Self-Sufficiency, and New Awareness and Understanding of your Innate Powers—and the easy techniques for their development and the realization of what those Empowering Skills will mean for your Life, Happiness, and Spiritual Fulfillment.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE embodies the ideal of personal freedom and personal responsibility—including that of citizen-based democracy and entrepreneurial economics that lie at the foundation of the American Republic and today’s near Global Civilization.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE is cumulative. With personal power came freedom of exploration and intellectual growth; with citizen power came public service and near universal public education; with both came equality and opportunity freed of racial, nationalist, religious, class, and sexual constraints.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE is also the liberating factor that allows anyone to pursue self-discovery, self-understanding, and self-improvement, leading to personal growth and real Personal Empowerment in which a single individual can stand up against corporate and institutional domination seeking to deny or control individual choice.

PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT is the engine generating newpersonal Growth and Development—hence the accelerating Human Evolution occurring en masse right now! Regardless of the fuzzy connotations that developed as the incoming Aquarian Energies became more causal in mid-twentieth century, the New Age is a reality bringing challenge and opportunity to everyone.

ULTIMATE POWER IS PERSONAL. Over the last 7,000 years—through three Zodiacal Ages symbolized by two fish swimming blindly in opposite direction and getting nowhere, and hormone-driven horned animals butting heads for sexual dominance in their herds—the human individual was subsumed into masses of warring political and religious empires dominated by driven leaders. In contrast, the New Age Aquarian Person is seen peacefully sharing Information and Knowledge, knowing that Knowledge is Power, and that Knowledge Shared is Transformative and Enlightening.

PERSONAL POWER IS THE KEY TO THE FUTURE. Of course, “Time” marches on, but—despite the “lessons of the past” involving massed military forces, masses of devotees dominated by religionists, massed crowds manipulated by politicians, old-fashioned mass-produced “one-size fits all” consumer goods, and consumer purchasing power manipulated by mass advertising—more and more it is the educated and empowered individual making independent decisions now characteristic of the New Age that is shaping the future both for individuals and our global culture as a whole.

PERSONAL POWER BRINGS AWARENESS. We have all, to some extent, suffered the illusion of powerlessness. Many live from day to day feeling that “something” is missing, or that we are a “victim of “circumstances” beyond our control. We may envy others their apparent happier lives, and then blame others, or the system, or one thing or another for our own unhappier ones. We may feel “left behind” as the train pulls out with other luckier people aboard.

THE STRUGGLE FOR POWER. From childhood on we experience situations beyond our control. We learn from parents that “we just can’t do anything about it.” Religions teach that there is a Greater Power “Up There,” but we find it to be of no help in our personal affairs. As young adults we look for love and romance, shared understanding and sensual enjoyment, and anticipate that happiness is just around the corner. Slowly youthful joys begin to dim, our sex life is merely repetitious; home, marriage and family bring chores, debt, and unexpected challenges; aging includes illness and decline; we find that our employment is unable to meet all our needs and dreams; and our government is limited in providing all the things we ask of it; and the Outer World becomes joyless and threatening. But that “outer world” is only part of the story. In schools we were taught about Outer World things but little about the Inner World powers and the Connections between Inner and Outer. We are not taught anything about the Power to accomplish personal goals.

THE LACK OF PERSONAL POWER IS AN ILLUSION TAUGHT BY PEOPLE SEEKING TO DOMINATE THE MASSES. THEY WANT TO TELL US WHAT TO DO AND WHAT TO THINK AND BELIEVE. They want to “herd” us into masses to blindly swim and get nowhere except as they want. They don’t want us to have Personal Power because that would bring Personal Independence and Freedom from Mass Coercion. “They” are the “left–overs” from the Past Old Ages.

PERSONAL POWER BRINGS “SUCCESS.” Let’s instead look at “personal power” and think “success.” We all want to be successful whether in social or athletic endeavors, education and training, employment and career, in marriage and parenting and having the home we desire, participating in our community, attaining financial security, enjoying health and long life, and—ultimately—in personal accomplishment and the feeling of personal worth and spiritual wholeness.

Personal Success is really what life is all about, but Real Success happens from inside out!

THE SECRET TO SUCCESS is really no secret at all. Just ask any successful person. The “secret” is really a universal truth that belongs to each and every human being on the planet. That truth is: Success begins in the Mind; and the greatest barrier to success is that illusion of helplessness and powerlessness. It is the illusion that you have no choices in life. BUT, YOU DO!

THE GOOD NEWS is that you do have the power—inside yourself, now—to sweep illusions from your mind and begin using your mind to lift human consciousness to a higher plane and make this planet a better place for yourself and your children, and all there is. YOU HAVE THE POWER, but power must be developed into Skills you can apply to meet your needs. You need Know-How! When you are Personally-Empowered, you control your own destiny. Why wait? SEIZE YOUR POWER, NOW!

Dr. Joe Slate and I’ve written a series of Personal Empowerment books with Techniques and Tools to activate your inner resources and create exciting new potentials in your life. Some techniques specifically involve Psychic Empowerment because your innate psychic powers must be developed into psychic skills and integrated into your Conscious Wholeness.

We are not “finished products!” Physical Adulthood is not even half the story. Psychic Empowerment techniques and tools directly engage your innate but mostly undeveloped and ignored Unconscious powers and bring them into the Conscious Mind for direct application in making a life of greater Success and Achievement. With expanding conscious awareness of your inner powers and abilities, you advance into the development of your Super-Conscious Mind.

Starting with simple meditations and affirmation procedures, we move onward with more complex and specific empowering procedures to meet your needs and your challenges, to make your life all it can be. With each step forward more opportunities become available to you. With each advancement the Greater Cosmos opens before you.

You are more than a physical being, more than an emotional being, more than a mental being—all these can be incorporated into your spiritual being. Each technique of Personal Empowerment embodies a firm regard for the divine spark of greatness existing in everyone. With their development, you grow towards greater Self-fulfillment. Success and Happiness are achieved through your own efforts and not from external factors or through other people.

No Great Master, not even the Buddha, can do this for you! In this New Age, you are the source of your own greatness, but all the parts of self must be awakened and empowered, and then centered in your own Higher Self. That’s how you grow as an Individual, and how we evolve as All Humanity.

Each book is complete on to itself. Some are bigger than others to bring it all together. Choose what interests you, now, and very likely you will want to move on to another title, and then another, at your own pace. The Definition of “Magick” in the 21st Century

Readers, please enjoy this guest blog post by Aaron Leitch, author of several books, including Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires, The Angelical Language Volume I and Volume II, and his new Essential Enochian Grimoire.

Wait! Don’t surf away yet! I know this subject—the definition of magick—has been rehashed a billion times over the years. It has been the focus of heated debates and even flame wars—and never (not once!) has a consensus been reached.

Frankly, this debate has been going on for longer than you think. It was a question during the occult revival of the 19th century. It is even tackled by the authors of the medieval grimoires. Why, I would bet real money that Egyptian and Sumerian priests used to sit around in their temples and argue the same damn points.

But that is really the point of this blog. I’m not naive enough to think we’re going to reach a consensus here. However, I do think we can add something to the conversation—especially now that we have entered the 21st century, and our relationship to magick is changing drastically. As that relationship changes, so too does our understanding of magick and what it means in our culture.

In previous years, the debate was caught up in the occultism of the late 1800s. The Age of Enlightenment had dawned, the Industrial Revolution had… revolved?… and the discipline of Science (that is, as divorced from all mystical concerns) had risen to supremacy. Psychology was a new and developing study. And absolutely anything that struck the Western mind as “occult ooga-booga” (read: pretty much any form of indigenous folk magick, voodoo, hoodoo, etc.) was firmly shown the door.

Thus, the people who were raised in that environment sought an explanation for magick that fit into their paradigm. Hence was born the “psychological” definition of magick: it’s all just a form of primitive psychology. Magick is all in your head. The spirits and gods are mere “names and faces” that we have placed on our own instincts and mental complexes. Magickal tools and considerations are just “props” that help your mind engage the magick. Chaos magick arose in this environment, and it also gave us Aleister Crowley‘s often-quoted definition:

“Magick is the science and art of causing change in conformity with Will.”

Taken at face value, I find this definition to be pointless. If any change I make (on purpose) to the world around me is “magick,” then “magick” ceases to be a useful word. If I walk outside, am I performing magick because I opened a door and changed my location? Of course not! Yet, the way many students interpret the above definition, magick ceases to be a specific discipline or craft. Electricians are performing magick. Carpenters are performing magick. The ice cream man is performing magick (and he even brings smiles to the faces of children)!

Of course, Crowley added in that word “Will,” which means there is a lot more to his definition than most students realize. He means making changes in accordance with your True Will (your Fate or Karma), and his definition is saying that any action you take toward fulfilling your True Will is a magickal act. That’s better… but it still negates “magick” as a discipline unto itself. I’ve used a lot of magick in pursuit of my True Will, but I’ve also had to do a lot of mundane stuff, too.

Today, we are leaving behind the 19th century views on magick. While the psychological definition still has its adherents—some of them quite passionate in defense of their position—there is now a counter-movement of Old Magick practitioners who find that view unsatisfying. As the world we grew up in continues to break down, economies continue to collapse, medicine and other necessities become unavailable, and ill-defined wars continue to rage across the globe, people aren’t looking for “self help occultism” the way they were twenty years ago. They want the real deal: magick that can make real change in the real world. They want magick that can keep food in their families’ bellies, a roof over their heads, and everyone alive and healthy.

I fall into that category. We’re the guys who see spirits, gods, and angels as objectively real. We find the magickal tools and considerations to be important to the technology, not just a bunch of props that can be substituted or dispensed with entirely. And because of these, we see the magickal ceremonies as vital protocols when dealing with spirits, not outdated superstitions that should be simplified, reinterpreted, or left behind. And as for those indigenous forms of magick and witchcraft, rather than turning our noses up and thinking we are somehow better than all of that, we’re actually turning toward them and learning as much as we can.

So, how does this new movement define magick? Good question, and that’s why we are having this discussion now.

To get the ball rolling, I’ll share with you the definition by which I work. In fact, it is an older definition that existed for thousands of years before the modern world. The Solomonic grimoires (a specialty of mine) were written under this definition, and I think it is time we all took a fresh look at it. (I originally found this outlined in the book Ritual Magic, by Elizabeth Butler.)

First, occultism in general is broken down into three categories:

Astrology: The study of the stars and other heavenly bodies (originally including astronomy) and their influence on the world and individuals. There were many applications for it—divination being primary, but also including such things as healing.
Alchemy: This wasn’t just turning lead into gold. It covered all metallurgy, mixing of medicines, the making of tinctures, brews, etc. ings were very interested in alchemists who promised fill their coffers with gold, but the true focus of alchemy was always on healing. Our modern sciences of medicine and chemistry got their start right here.
Magick: The art of working with spirits. (Also called witchcraft.)

Of course, these categories are given for convenience, and do not represent hard-drawn lines. In fact, any system of Old Magick is going to include aspects of all three mixed together. For example, if you don’t know something about alchemical symbolism, and a lot about astrology, the spirit-magick outlined in the old grimoires isn’t going to make a lick of sense to you.

What the above categories do show us is that, classically speaking, the definition of “magick” was to work with spiritual entities. When you call upon Divine Names, gods, angels, spirits, familiars, heroes, or ancestors, you are engaging in the art and science called “magick.”

Now, I’m aware many of you are going to get angry over that definition. What about incantations and talismans and folk magick that don’t call on any of those guys? Are they suddenly not magick? Of course they are magick! But you have to realize that all of these things weren’t just invented by witches with too much time on their hands. That money talisman you found in an old book was, in fact, delivered to an aspirant by a spiritual entity. That incantation to bring you a lover? It was revealed by an angel to someone who asked for it. That rain dance you’re doing? Guess who transmitted it to the shamans?

That’s how the Old Magick works. You ask a spirit for help, and it responds by giving you some kind of hoodoo/witchcraft-y thing to do to achieve the goal. Make this talisman and bury it over there. Recite that incantation in a specific place and time. Go leave an offering here on a specific day. The examples are endless—but they all started with a shaman, witch, or magician making contact with his guardian spirits and having them teach him the magickal art.

So feel free to post your own thoughts in the comments section. What do you think of this definition of magick? What is your definition? Why? (And, to keep things simple, keep in mind we are defining the practice of magick, not the intangible “force” we often refer to as magick. That’s an entirely different debate!)

Sun Enters Aries 2014: Forecast for the Year Ahead

Aries, The Ram

March 20 to April 19

Modality: Cardinal

Element: Fire

Ruler: Mars

Keywords: Initiative, action, adventurous, enthusiastic, dynamic, impatient

As an Aries you are a born leader, eager to take the initiative and be a leader. Be careful, though, as you tend to be impatient; this trait can get the better of you at times. You are energetic, and fiery Mars ensures that you are good at what you try. Sports and exercise for you are relaxing and help you free your mind.

You have a wide social circle, though it is mostly comprised of acquaintances, rather than close friends. Your love life is nurtured by your energy and enthusiasm, which is helpful being that you place a lot of value on relationships and partnerships. You likely have a strong need for children, but be careful that you don’t dote too much on your kids. Be sure to spend your time (not your money) on them.

Your enthusiasm and motivation translates well to your career, and you are mindful to keep moving up the ladder. You excel at analysis with an eye for detail; be sure that your impatience doesn’t hinder your good career prospects. You have excellent earning potential and can do well with long-term investments; make sure that you look before you leap when diving into a large financial risk. You are frugal and understand value.

For the year ahead:

Affirmation: Aim before you fire! Please!

Jupiter spends the first half of 2014 in your fourth house (cancer). This transit is good for organization and home repairs, and could even signal an addition (perhaps a room, perhaps a person!) to your home. Jupiter moves into Leo on July 16; the latter half of this year, you will see your focus shift to fun and recreation—everyone’s favorite!
Saturn continues its course through Scorpio (your eighth house of joint resources) since October 2012. This is a great time to pay down debt and examine your family spending, saving, and budgeting.
Uranus again spends the year in your sign (it remains in Aries until 2018). Here in your first house, you may feel a new, more independent side of your self emerging, or a desire to change your appearance drastically.
Pluto is now in its fourth year in Capricorn, your tenth house, and continues its powerful influence on career during its long transit (lasting until 2024). This placement can help you achieve ambitious career goals, but it can also signify trouble at work (think personality clashes or downsizing). With Pluto in your tenth house, be aware of what is going on at your workplace.

Tarot Beyond the Basics

Many of you are familiar with Anthony Louis’ class Tarot Plain and Simple, which is an excellent book for beginners.

For those who are “beyond the basics” we now have Anthony Louis’ long-awaited Tarot Beyond the Basics.

beyondbasics

This wonderful book takes you further into your tarot studies. Not only does Louis provide stellar content, he does so with humor, real life examples, and complete accessibility.

One of my favorite parts is a section called “Other Schools of Tarot Reading ” (pp 131 – 135). He shows that whatever school (or reading style) you use, you will arrive at the same answer. He does the same reading using these methods: Intuitive, Historical, Systems-based, Traditional RWS, Psychological/Archetypal, Personal Interpretations, and Integrationist.

This is book really does have something for everyone…and it is such an enjoyable read!
