Practically speaking, Type 2 bloggers are always more successful than Type 1. Type 1 becomes successful only if the blogger is famous or something. But the reason why I like Type 1 is because I believe that every story matters, and everyone who feels like their story should be heard should be given a chance to say it. That's kinda why I moved from fiction to personal on my blog (not to say I have stopped writing fiction, but compared to before).
Oversharing personal details - well, it depends. I read something the other day that embarrassed the hell out of me cos of the TMI in there. Similarly, a blog should not be someone's bitching-about-someone-else platform. Anything other than that is cool with me :D
But, I do share my learning experiences/incidents or conversations that touch me, but again, I like to present them in a different way.
Also, when it comes to reading, I like bloggers sharing their personal experiences that's insightful or funny. I don't like when people (overly) share their personal life/details.
I like reading your posts. :)
