That is really interesting way of looking at it and kind of fits with my newest "revelation" while rereading Twilight. At the beginning Bella says that her mom is like a kid, so Bella has had to be the adult all of her life. When she moves to Forks she is away from her mom and actually can be a child, but she goes way overboard, which would be expected of someone in her situation. Kind of like a reverse of kids going to college and going overboard on being an "adult" and being their own boss and making their own rules.
