Actually, at the end of Lost Hero I didn't know what to think of Reyna. But when her photos got released on Rick's blog I thought "Wow, this one got some attitude." And I wasn't mistaken.
I think she really is a well-developed character, along with Leo who is so underrated. (They're my favorite demigods as of now)
And what I don't like about Pipes is that she's insecure at times, and like what you've said, her love for Jason is like an obsession.

Leo isn't really underrated though. He stole the show from Jason and Piper in Lost Hero, hence why he got a pov in Demigod Diaries.
Piper CAN be a good character that is if people recognize her flaws and not see her as a "perfect princess". She's currently one of my "badly-written character" list but that could probably change in House of Hades if RR bothers to read the complaints about her. He should hopefully do so since he did the same for Jason when people said he was too perfect.
